Here's the scenario. You are an actor or actress with some level of celebrity (whether you're as famous as Brad Pitt, or as relatively unknown as Milo Ventimiglia [the guy who plays Peter Petrelli in Heroes] is up to you).

One day, you learn that there exists erotic fanfiction of a character you have played, or, weirder still, of you. Would you be immediately grossed out and try to avoid it like the plague?

Or would you read it?

I ask because, as you all know, Rule 34 exists. I imagine that nearly every famous person, given how attractive most of them are, has to deal with this rule at some point in their careers. Considering some of the more unusual side effects of fame could be interesting.

Also, it's a really weird question that's bound to get some really weird answers. Should be a lot of fun. XD

I'd start reading it, out of curiosity. Whether it keeps me in would depend on its quality.

I'd read it :p Whether I'm flattered or offended would depend on whether the author knows their "there"s or not!

I actually would find it hilarious. I would probably giggle at their interpretation of me.

I would read it for jokes.

I wouldn't be creeped out at all, especially because if I attained that level of celebrity, very few people would know me on a personal level. So the writing in question would be a very loose interpretation of myself (or a character I played) and there would be an immediate disconnect.

It would only be creepy if they melded in (offscreen) events that actually happened in my daily life with the names of close friends. But even that would have to be written in a convincing way.

None of it would ever seem plausible.

As someone who has dubiously read MLP:FiM fan fiction, there's a clear divide between good and bad writing. Even if the subject matter was me, if it was written well and stayed within my personality I'd probably be too interested to avoid it.

Wait, how explicit is this rule 34 action? Is it straight, gay, group, BDSM, scat, tentacle?

Definitely read it. It's not like fiction can hurt you. And it's not like I take anything on the internet that seriously in the first place. If it's good, maybe I would go so far as to try to meet the author.

These, both of these so many times. Although I would definitely read, and if done decently, may even be quite flattered. Although I would also keep any numbers necessary to get that restraining order in place on speed-dial, just in case.

I would feel flattered if someone tried to write a fantasticly overdone interpretation of me in which I am an unstoppable sex god. Not that anyone would knowing my figure.

I'd read it. wouldn't be able to resist but it'd be under the cover of darkness and unless it was really well known or very good then deny having read it anytime somebody asked.
