I'd read it, and then giver constructive criticism as to what I or my character would/wouldn't do. I see no reason to deny someone their bit of fun. It's not like I'd go looking for it, but if I happened to stumble across it, that's what I'd do.

start reading and pray that i don't turn out to be gay in it
with me it'd be the opposite. If they hooked my character up with a female character, then I'd get a little peeved with it, I'll admit.

I'm yet to find erotic fanfiction of Bang Bang, You're Dead, I played the part of Josh almost three years ago with my company. But yes, I would read it just for fun.

Not interested. The "me" in the story would be a random character (if you can call people in fanfiction "characters") the writer assigned to me. The "character" would only have my name.

However if a respected screenwriter and director, who did his/their research made a film about me, like Zuckerberg and The Social Network; I'd be all over that. ;)

(Yeah, I'm a writing-snob, sue me.)

I just realized that I forgot to mention what I'd do in my OP. I will now do so in a separate post, in a shameless effort to bump this thread.

I would. I would read it, and make all the horrified/bemused/amused/nauseated faces and noises that one would expect from someone who was reading all the weird and kinky stuff they were being made to do in the text.

I'd also probably get kind of annoyed if the writer had the crappy spelling, grammar and punctuation that most fanfiction writers have. Dammit, if you're going to throw me into the deviant sex scenes that you've dreamed up, then you'd damn well better know the difference between their, they're, and there!

I'd first see other samples of writing from the person who wrote it.

If I was still me, but a famous actor, I would still have a distinct aversion to badly-spelled and grammatically-shit writing.

I'd read it, and then after the expected "three minute debrief" (if you know what I mean), I would either feel disappointed or pleased with the quality of the writing.

That's all there really is to it for me, to be honest.

I would read it, my curiosity wouldn't let me ignore it, it might be good.
