The thought crossed my mind...what if you were given the choice to be immortal? Would you take it? Oh and just to make it interesting there are no loop holes to this, only you are immortal. Would you accept the offer if it meant that you had to out live everyone you've ever know or for that matter will meet. Hell for that matter it would also mean that if the world and all of mankind endded that you would be stuck alone for the rest eternaty. So it's up to you...do you think the perks would out-weigh the losses enough to do it?

No, I wouldn't. I don't want to see everything I love die/get destroyed.

Of course. Then I could become God-Emperor and rule the human race for eternity!

Also: 300th post! Yay, only a few thousand more until I beat Furburt

Nope, I prefer my mortality. I quite enjoy having friends and family without the knowledge that I will inevitably outlive them and have to deal with their loss.

Absolutely not. I'd take another hundred years, maybe, but eternal life is out of the question. To sit back and watch everyone I loved and cared for die, to watch the world tear itself apart. Ultimately to be there in the fiery cataclysm as the sun went supernova and our world and everything I had ever known or experienced get turned to cinder...
That would be my hell, not my joy.
Though I look forward to a long life with my current partner, I hope that I will never have to watch her die, nor any children we might plan to adopt/bring into the world. You would go mad within a century and live through eternity as a broken and insane individual...eventually too far gone to even appreciate your unaging and undying body.

Spare me. I'll go when my normal alloted time is up.

Nah, I'd rather slow my aging process down. I'd prefer to live longer than to live forever. At least that way then, if things go really, really bad on this planet way off in the future, I know I don't have to stick around and witness it.

Even if it was to only live until the end of humanity I would never accept. There wouldn't be that much left to do after one life time that I would need another. Sure I would die with regrets but at least I won't need to live dully until the end of days.

Sign me up. I don't want to die.

Plus, going insane sounds like an interesting experience.

I would like it. Maybe it's just me, but I would really love to see where the Earth is in a few thousand years. Unless it's war torn and a suckish place to live. I mean sure it would get boring after a few hundreds years of living on Earth. But at that point I would hope that we had expanded to other worlds. Be nice to kind of live through a Mass Effect/ Star Wars universe. Talk to other species and see the universe, go to alien worlds and all that stuff. It would suck to watch all my friends and family die, but I don't think it would be any different then me living longer they did and watching them die anyways.

I'd want to die at a certain point, so no.

If I was immortal but not indestructible (so I could kill myself) then yes, I'd like to see how the course of human history plays out (but only if it's eternal youth).

Sure. I for one, fear death, even though I'm intrigued at what lies beyond that painful veil.

Yeah, everyone I know and love will die, but that's life anyways, immortal or not. And let's face it; once my parents, friends, and pets die, I'll probably become a hermit or something, gaining all the knowledge I can.

...Or a fucking sexual tyrannosaurus, sleeping with everything that looks at me the right way.

And, if that doesn't work out y'know, with me winding up homeless or a sexual deviant; I hear from Sheogorath that madness is pretty fun.

I think i would do it. To be around and witness it all from beginning to end, that'd be pretty cool.

I assume by immortal, you mean immune to age and disease, but still able to be killed by, say, a bullet to the head. Because if you are immune to age and disease AND can't be killed by said bullet to the head, then that's immortality AND invulnerability.

OT: Probably not. I wouldn't want to have to meet people, care about them, and endure their deaths for an enternity. Besides, 75 years (give or take a few) is more than enough for me. After that, I'd just get tired.
