Yeah, I would. I know, I know. I will outlive everything and everyone. I saw what C.C. went through. I can appreciate the situation, but eternal life is nothing to scoff at, assuming I'm locked in at the age of ascendancy.

Well, the problem is what to do after the universe eventually collapses. I say mortality is probably the best choice.

well, on one hand, I can learn EVERY fighting style on earth, become the ultimate weapons master, and become a legendary warrior and paragon of justice. or, on the other, I can do the above, but instead, become an evil overlord and bring about an etearnity of darkness, or, on the third arm and hand that has grown from my chest, I could become a leading scientist and devote my time to...something. I like options 1 and 2, I'll choose when I become immortal.

Hmmm, how about instead of never dying, being reborn after you die with your past memory intact, like the Avatar from Avatar: the Last Airbender.

That sounds cool to me!

Yes and I hope I don't get a life sentence in prison.
That is assuming I don't age and I can't get perminant (I hope I spelled that right) injuries.

Sure. I for one, fear death, even though I'm intrigued at what lies beyond that painful veil.

Yeah, everyone I know and love will die, but that's life anyways, immortal or not. And let's face it; once my parents, friends, and pets die, I'll probably become a hermit or something, gaining all the knowledge I can.

...Or a fucking sexual tyrannosaurus, sleeping with everything that looks at me the right way.

And, if that doesn't work out y'know, with me winding up homeless or a sexual deviant; I hear from Sheogorath that madness is pretty fun.
this right here, this is exactly my mind set
and besides im good at hiding insanity :D

I probably would. I'm pretty much a loner anyway. Plus, I'm a bit of a power fiend.

Yeah, id do it. Just to prove elton john wrong. more than can ever be done my ass.

Also, i had a scary thought. What if you were on a spaceship, it blew up and everyone died, but you would survive, and be stuck out floating in space for god knows how long.

If I got to look and be healthy like I'm a certain age, yea, because even though the people I love would die, and all that would happen, I think it would be cool to watch civilization evolve over time in front of my eyes.

hmmmm. that's a good question, a kind of double edged sword. Do I want to live for ever and get the opportunity to see all of the cool things that are sure to be invented? or the wars that will take place? one day say to someone "yeah I was with that guy when (insert invention here)" to which the person would respond "yeah right that was 400 years ago" then show them a picture and watch the reaction. but then, in the end, though it would be millions or billions of years from now it would still come, when the universe expands and everything within dies, or however it will come about, you'd still be there... for the rest of eternity

so I guess, if there was a way I could commit suicide, the definitely, yes, I would take the opportunity and become immortal, if not then... maybe. the thought of floting in black nothingness for all eternity makes me a little bit nervous

Yes

Like some people had said, life is an adventure that is ever changing. Sure, people will die; In fact I'm pretty sure I'll see many of my loved ones die while I'm alive, the key here is not to dwell on the negative.

If you are to live for millions of years think of how much knowledge you'd obtain, all the new people you'd meet, and all the new experiences you'll have.

Basically you'll be like the Most Interesting Man Alive and the Old Spice Guy wrapped into one. Which sounds awesome because it is.

Also I just really want to see the future, it's going to be awesome. (Space Flight and VR just to name two of the awesome things in store for us.)

The only thing that would suck is the first 100 years as you watch the people you've connected with in the first part of your mortal life waste away, after that it'd be pretty sweet.

Maybe I could get one a guest pass to immortality or something.

I think Immortality is almost impraticable, too many question comes with it
Can you still feel pain? Do you still feel hunger/sleepiness?
You would have to work all the time so you can pay for your rent/whatever you want to buy.
Like someone stated, earth will eventually come to an end, what would you do?
You will also eventually be wanted by all kind of group of people to do research/torture/questioning you for about everything.
I'll pass that power :)

I would. The thought of seeing our advancement through the centuries would be amazing, despite the inevitable pain of outliving those you come to love and cherish. Hell, when I tire of immortality, I could always find another planet to rule with an iron fist, or just hurl myself into the sun.

Didn't we just have this thread only a few days ago? Something about the choice between immortality and invincibility?

I've fairly much outlived all my friends (most died from terminal and genetic diseases and acccidents of various kinds) So thats not an issue... At least it would give me time to play all the games I've ever wanted

BTW: I'm only 32
