I would start a religion where we worship a bearded, shiny man on a cloud who can walk on water, rose from the dead and flew up into the sky. Huh? That sounds kinda familar...

One where everyone is in fact the same spirit, but it is reincarnated into every creature on the planet exactly once. Because everyone is effectively the same being, it's a good idea not to be a dick to other people/creatures. Maybe I could add something about all of these reincarnations being queued up and the better you are in your life, the closer to the end of the queue you get, meaning that you are closer to eternal peace. That may not be very good motivation though...
