A friend of mine and her younger brother were apparently talking about this and they asked me and my other friends the same question:

If you were in a padded room with a straightjacket, and nothing else was in the room, how would you kill yourself?

My friend said she would do backflips until she landed on her neck. I said I would try to shove my face into the padding till I suffocated.

So to start this thread off, how would YOU kill yourself if you were in a padded room with a straightjacket on?

Dehydration seems like how I'd do it. I'd end up sticking it out until that point, hoping.

But to answer you, suffocation doesn't work as well as you think, because your body will relax once you pass out and you'll start breathing again. I don't know how I'd kill myself in a padded room, but it'd be near impossible.

I have to go with trying to bite off my own tongue and bleed to death, and then try to bite the people when they came in to help me and hopefully get sedated and have some kind of reaction to it.

Hunger is a painful death. you waste away. Besides, you would dehydrate before you starve. and thats just as bad.

If it were me, I'd be labeled sane by a doctor, then ask one to help my commit suicide. quick, easy and thought out.

Kind of a cheat if you ask me; the idea is that no one is looking for you, near you, or watching you.

I'd use my escape artist training to escape the straightjacket, fashion a pick out of the metal fastenings, and begin digging my way out. I'd eat the rest of the jacket little by little, and if push come shove, I'd eat the sponge on the walls. I'd probably die of old age before I made any real progress, but at least I'd have something to do in the meantime.
