I would take Ray Mears (the survival expert) nothing can go wrong with him around he would just make everything we needed with a trusty pen-knife.

My girlfriend, for obvious reasons.

A decent book.

Paris Hilton
Two heavy sticks

We'd have some fun.

Ahh, nothing better than chasing Paris Hilton around an island with a mysterious unbreakable barrier and beating her with sticks.

Ahhh...
I hear coconuts are hard enough to crack someone's skull open with too.
One of us could sit at the top of a tree and fling them down, while the other has not one, but two sticks.
(That's right, double the stickage! (I've decided that "stickage" is a term for the awesomeness of sticks(I've also decided it's completely called for and not at all confusing to have brackets within brackets)))
Coconuts are responsible for more deaths annually than shark attacks.

My 3 things:
1.) Computer with unlimited internet AND unlimited power AND immunity to the elements AND all the latest games available for download
2.) Sufficient food to last me a lifetime
3.) My best friend so she can keep me company

Don't need anything else.

EDIT: Missed that part about the invisible barrier.

An axe

A tent

And every book known to man

I know what your thinking "books why Books" well books are good for more then just reading i,e they burn, they're sturdy, they have layers.
I know many of you have said it, but do you people realize that you could only take 3 items, not like, a gazillion? Because there are that amount of books in the world.

And if you can describe it with one word, or associate all the millions of things into one word, doesn't mean it is one item.

Or, in that case...I would bring...

EVERYTHING!

And some books too!

If it's a tropical island with plenty of food, water and friendly inhabitants, then:

1. Ex girlfriend. I don't think I have to explain.
2. Books. Reading is fun.
3. Nuclear defense shield or machete.

Now to sit back and wait for rescue.

My smoking hot home-room teacher.

A solar powered generator.

A laptop + internet connection. I say they count as one.

1 Tarnished silver
2 A silver cleaning cloth
3 Silver that's gonna be tarnished by the time I've finished cleaning the other silver

Because who needs food or water when you've got shiny stuff?
