Gona say..... for future work go with a dry heal method. You will hold deeper color. A n D just saps color it's just not worth it. Just use a medicated lotion. (Non scented) Several times a day.
Oh really? The tattooist told me to use Bepanthen.. which is just expensive nappy rash cream  He did seem pretty gormless, wont be going to that place for my next one :)

What sort of lotion would anyone else here suggest? what did you lot use?. Im not even certain its essential but again, gormless tattooist says its important to keep moisturised :)
Sounds like you got sold a marked up version of AnD.
I used Saint Ives medicated unscented and it really held color.

I have 2 egyptian god-heads on my forearms, a semi-tribal tree on my back and a jester/harlequin on my left upper arm, which I intend to extend into a half-sleeve. I have 2 full sleeves planned, and want to get the majority of my left and right calf done. I'd also consider some nuckle shots. My back is also going to be extended to a full piece based on Norse mythology. All of the current ones have been designed for me by the tattoo artist on my instructions, or a couple of friends of mine.

The problem with film/game/anime tattoo's is that they really don't age too well, or just have no proper meaning. You need to be able to live with these things for the rest of your life, and "it seemed cool at the time" is not something you want to find yourself saying.

It's best to find something you love, get several references together and go shopping. Find an artist who's enthusiastic about what you want them to do, and will put the references together into something original that looks good and is what you want. Try for 4+ years in the industry as well, and if you don't like what they've drawn up, damn tell them.

I have the Campbell clan crest on my upper left arm. No pic of the tat so here's the gist of it. The one on my arm was a slight variant drawn by a friend.

Would like another one either on my right arm or chest. Just don't know what. Took me a long time to figure out the one I have.

I have five.

One of them is the Portal logo right down my arm, permanent tribute.

Simple.

Two dates, basic black text, tasteful font.

My wife's birthday, and the date of our anniversary.

Practical!
LOL you lad:'].

OT: I'm considering getting 'Blessed & Cursed' going around the shirt neckline; I don't know the official name haha. Why? S'mah favourite album(Y). Considering getting the outline of a heart on my back right shoulder. Why? ...Juss'cos.

I dunno. We'll see.

I'll be getting one when I'm not hurting for money. It'll be a stylished, but still realistic-ish dancing rat on my left shoulder. I've done some designs for it already.

It would hurt like hell to get done, though...
How would it?

I'm really scared of needles. Apparently I need to overcome that first.
You won't see a single needle.

I can't say I would get a tattoo due to the aging process of the body. But if I were, I'd get the word "Zero" tattooed on the knuckles of my left hand (based on the Smashing Pumpkins song), and The Punisher skull on the back of my right hand
Your worried about the aging process but you would have a tattoo on the second most visable part of your body (arguably third)?

Frankly, if a painless way was developed, there would be nothing stopping me from getting a tattoo.
You mean like the numbing cream they use on people so they can't feel the pain? Yeah, they already have that.

I use bepanthen and I love it, I have never seen anything heal a tattoo like it! Don't keep it saturated though, thats when the colour fades. It's like getting a bucket putting an inch of paint in the bottom and fill the rest with water, it just fades the colour.

I out it on once a day, till it itches then put it on when it itches to soothe it.

on topic. I have a full tribal sleeve on my left arm. As far as pain goes, after the outline there is nothing to it. The arm pit hurts like hell and the elbow stings a bit and this is coming from a guy who got told "I think I have tattooed your shoulder bone", which didn't hurt.

I want more tattoos, just not enough cash. The next one is a full back one, it is a cross, wings behind it and two skulls on it. (it sounds tacky but it's not).

Also this ...

Hypothetically, yes. Cause I pretty much wear long-sleeve shirts and pants, and I figure to get your money's worth in a tattoo is to have it where it will be on display for people to see. I believe that if you wanted a tattoo but put it someplace that you cover up 90% of the time, it'd be a waste.

Also, I don't think prospective employers and businesses would look too kindly to tattoos like those. So there'd be that as well.
