well, i got a dreamcast, and still pop it in every once in a while to play Grandia 2...
*dies* I really wanted that game, I was hanging out for it and the b@stard who I got all my DC games from never got it in. I then expunged its existence from my memory to cover my disappointment.

Nintendo 64, without a doubt. The selection of games is an absolute gold mine, including the Best Game Ever Made (ie Zelda: Ocarina of Time). And for some reason it remains the best console that goes down well at parties. Chicks dig it.

Should I be slightly worried that I have most of the list and more beside, AND I'm looking to get rid if them?

Emulation is so easy today that aside from nostalgia, there's no reason to hold on the the old consoles, especially as every single one of the next gen consoles can do backwards compatibility to some degree.

Dreamcast, even if the only games I played on it were Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, Chu Chu Rocket and Samba di Amigo, which is the greatest party game ever (fuck Singstar).

I think I'd go with Dreamcast and hope that all the SNES games I care about become available through the Wii's virtual console ('cuz let's face it, in a hypothetical world where I can not only find but afford a working Dreamcast with a bunch of games - particularly Skies of Arcadia, which a couple of my friends can't shut up about - I'll definitely have a Wii :p ).

Seeing as I own and opperate a PSX already, I would definately get myself a Nes and onw of those "250 games on one disk" things...

I loved the cat and mouse game (don't remember the name (where you are a mouse and are going all over a bulding and there are trampolenes all over the place...remember that one?) and B17 the air-combat game...

I'd keep the money and download an emulator, and I'd get the SNES or a gamecube.
SNES for FF and gamecube for the Zeldas :3

i'd buy the snes.

I always loved this console, and what happened to it can be described as an old school RRoD. I played the freakin console so much that the power supply burnt. I'm not joking. At the time, my father opened the power supply and all the wires were burnt. Actually, this is a good chance to ask: has this happened to anyone else?

Ever since then i've been looking for a snes.

I actually think I would have to go with the NES (even though I have a love for Phantasy Star and Shining Force series for Genesis). How can you go wrong with the classics? Zelda, SMB, Contra, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, Super Spike Dodge Ball, Volleyball, Kid Icarus, Ikari Warriors, Double Dragon and the list goes on!

I would get a original SNES. I have a bunch of my old rpg carts for it. One of these day I will get one off ebay or amazon.

I wasted so many hours of my youth on that system, and playing the games on a emulator on the computer just isn't the same for some reason.

I actually know a guy who sells old school consoles and games (nothing before NES) If I had the cash I would buy a SNES.

Funny that people would get a PS1 when you can get a PS2 and run PS1 games on it...

I already have most of the older systems I want. So really, at this point, what I really want to get is a Pentium 166MMX with 64MB RAM and a 1MB SVGA video card to play the PC classics that I can't play anymore. Alone in the Dark, Planet's Edge, Crusader: No Remorse, Syndicate, X-Com, and all the other games I grew up with and would probably rather play than just about any game that's due out in the next year or so.

I loved all those games! Yeah an old PC would come in handy at times. I picked up this old PC game, Dreamweb, for $1 but I can't actually play it on my PC. Pity, I really liked that game back in the day.

Ive got most of these but I would like to get a saturn again.
Dont really need the snes as I have a pretty good snes emu for my dreamcast.
The saturn was a very underrated console that had some real gems on it(i had over 20)
I had a copy of 'Guardian Heroes' on mine which I have recently seen being sold for £88($170 roughly).

Depressed the hell out of me.
