Well, there is quite the difference between being skinny, and being a twig.

You can still be skinny, but you don't want to end up a twig. Twigs break easily, and no one likes being that.

Ah, I see. Not exactly the greatest to talk to? Guessing its usually about your attitude?

Never mind. I shouldn't ask things like that.
My grandparents are pretty awesome by my standards. They're old fashioned and all, but my Grandpa is damn smart and funny, and my Grandma is still going and thinking. Not as deep as Grandpa, funny enough, but more common sensical wise, if that makes sense.

I don't mind you asking, and yes, it is about my attitude/friends/fashion.

They are both good grandparents and I love them, but they can be very nosy and it annoys me how they treat my mom like she is a litle kid. I know that they care about us but stuff like that bugs me. My grandpa is a retired marine who served for about 25 years and went on to be a sheriff in some small county until he retired. He is a hardass who can be the biggest jerk to people, especially family. And my grandma, 83 years old, is pretty great, physically and mentally. She is definatly more open-minded and I'm able to get along with her, except the times where she offers her "advice."

Heh, well, just about all ex-military tend to be a little on the hardass side. Just comes from the career, I guess. And grandparents always treat their own children like kids. Its always been like that. Your kid is always your kid, is what my mom always tells me. And you gotta expect the crazy advice from grandparents. Its what they do, especially with that old logic that used to apply to everything.

My grandparents are both farmers. Always have been, as far as I know. Grandpa has had multiple heart surgeries, and still wants to do things like chop wood and bale hey. He really shouldn't and grandma always complains. He is finally settling down though. Still a damn quick wit, even by todays standards. Grandma has always been more down to earth style....

The other half is because those older people are some of the most resourceful and well connected people on the planet.
