Oh, and the whole damn site crashed on me yesterday. For about the whole day.

Perhaps. But I don't think spyware would cause this site in particular to die. What browser are you using?

Firefox, and actually 3 sites died on me.

Hm....Well, that isn't good.
Do you have spybot search and destroy? Or malware bytes?
Or something to take care of that annoying stuff?

Yeah, actually. I did two separate scans and nothing came up.

And your stuff is up to date?

And have you cleaned your computer history recently?

Yup. I deleted all of my cookies and everything.

Well, do you know what came up when you tried to get on the site?

Yeah, most pictures were missing, the flash wasn't working, and It took forever to load.

And I take it you have checked your task manager to see if you got anything on hogging everything?

And perhaps your flash or shockwave player is out of date.

Though, perhaps it is firefox being out of date, or a add on that does not agree with everything.

Well Firefox isn't out of date. It was most likely a glitch in NoScript.

That might be it. Though I have little experience with Firefox, that might have been the problem. Next time it happens, just turn that off.

I'd rather not, even if it glitches sometimes it makes the interwebz less likely to destroy my computer.

I've gone all my years without firefox. Never used NoScript, and probably never will. I get the feeling that turning it off will not destroy your computer.

Heh, most likely not. But I like to be on the safe side ya know?

Yeah, well, safety is never guaranteed, especially when it comes to the computers. You can be as careful as you want, but it all comes down to luck, eventually.

Yes, but some add-ons and programs bolster your luck considerably.

 

[UnusualStranger]

Possibly....or make you more of a target. Too many layers make you more of a target, because they only need to get behind one of the programs you use to protect yourself to get at your computer.
