Then, that relies on the soul either being existent in the first place for the certain deities, or if in fact we have a soul to hold on to at all.
What purpose does a soul hold, other than make people feel better knowing that there is always going to be a part of them somewhere, forever.

A soul, from what I learned from years of the Bible being shoved down my throat, a sort of camera for the greater deity to see what your doing, thinking, ect
A soul is comforting, it's like an imaginary friend, it's there to some people, but then again, it's not there to some people, sorta a red hat, green hat thing.

While I can see what you are attempting to prove about a soul, it is one of those functions which cannot be proven or denied, because there is no actual proof other than hearsay, random thousand year old books, and other such sources of questionable nature.
