No they are not.
In fact... the original Vampires on Nosgoth weren't actually blood-thirsty... or immortal.
Their enemies cursed them with both.
The original Vampires were one of the few stabilizing forces in Nosgoth for much of its history.
In fact... they were rather angelic originally.
It was only until they were forced to make human vampires that things got screwed up...
and that's because of the "Humans are Bastards" trope.
