@Ankara: I ran into this issue. I thought it was pronounced like "urn-brew", the person I bought it from called it "eern-brew" and the person I bought the haggis from called it "iron-brew".

@Eum: It's called Irn (iron) Bru, but different areas of Scotland pronounce their "I"'s differently is all.

It's iron! The drink literally contains iron, and that's either because of or the reason for its name (I can't remember which). Admittedly, there's not much iron, but there's enough that I can say that I like to drink metal for refreshment.
