@Blarg: I see. I still need to build my computer. I've got the tower, power supply, cooling fans, and I'm looking at some GPUs. Gonna make sure it has plenty of memory and a good amount of HDD space. ^.^

@Nero: its an ATI radeon hd 6770... or 6850... I forget... but either way... I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the card... or its having compatibility issues with the other hardware drivers or something... though I doubt that's the case... the Psu is 500 which is a bit low for the card... so I figure might not be getting enough power during moments of high stress... so I figured simply underclocking to curb the power usage would fix the problem... well at least that's the theory for now...<.<

@Sacman: Odd that you would say that 500 is a bit low, but perhaps you are correct, especially if it was overclocked or is being stressed more than other bits of hardware. GPU is rarely the problem, since they tend to be largely universal, unless the motherboard isn't equipped to handle the card or the power drain that comes with it. And I imagine the problem is that the computer will start but not handle any graphical applications, which might mean that the drivers might need some form of tweaking as well, but thats just random advice at the moment.

But the reason I say 500 is low is because its a beef card and the minimum is 500 so I'm thinking that the mobo and hdd is taking more power than it should...<.<

@Sacman: I would ask what exactly you have done to this computer, because I think you might have wanted to go a much higher style of power supply, but then I figure that I might as well not bother, since that is going to be obvious probably shortly...

@xmbts: Sorry to hear that, but computer building isn't all that hard. Besides, you can get most parts online these days for a very reasonable price. And maybe we could walk you through it.

Record a 60 minute video at 6.0 Mb bitrate, only use 2.71 GB.
Try the same with old capture card which can't record higher than 480i, use up 13.4 GB.
I love the HD PVR. ^.^

@Xmbts: well there were new evelopments today.. and now I think it's something else...<.<

@Stranger: yeah turns out to not be the PSU... CPU is using a bit more than it should... but it still hasn;t readhed the max TDP... and the GPU was running fine until I installed the drivers... and now it won;t even boot up...<.<
