@Sacman: So, you've uninstalled it, hopefully cleared out all the old drivers and such, and then attempted a reinstall....I am going to start asking some silly questions, but it seems that it is an odd problem.
Are you doing things in the right order? Some cards want you to install everything particularly first. As in the drivers are supposed to be completely installed, then you install the card.
Does the card have an additional area to plug in for a power supply? Some cards have some small slots for apparently external power that they need, which might be causing problems...
Perhaps the driver style is different for the OS being used? 64 and 32 bit problems can cause some crashing, especially since I am not sure if compatibility mode kicks in for drivers for graphics. Something I'm sure you checked, but worth making sure.
Perhaps the card is somewhat outdated for the system? Perhaps it needs some compatibility for it. Or maybe you need to turn off the on board driver for the integrated graphics, or change what graphics driver it looks for upon startup.
