If your country was invaded.....

After seeing all these ________ invades America games like Homefront and MW2, I started wondering about this. If your country was invaded a foreign army and were losing, would you resist the invaders?

If it was extremly close or if the invaders were being very cruel (like Japan when it invaded China), I would. But otherwise no. If I wasn't being treated horribly and my countries army was getting clearly beaten, I wouldn't. If the pros can't do it, I couldn't either.

How zealous would you be in defending your country against a foreign army?

Depends. If it was an eastern Asian country, I'd fight to the death because they don't fuck around. Middle Eastern, throw bacon and grenades at them. European or Canadian,I would turn traitor so fast.

I would sort of feel obligated as an American to fight back against an outside power invading. So I have to say I would fight them to the death(preferably the enemies death).

Depends really. If France or Sweden invaded I'd welcome our new, civilised overlords. Yeah, it all depends on whether I prefer their politics or not - or whether I'd be the sort of person to be rounded up and sent to the death camps anyway - under that circumstances, resistance would be the only sensible course of action.

I'm from Canada so we'd be pretty zealous. We wouldn't need to because it's either -40C or full of snow during the winter an invading army would have to take the entire country in less than 6 months if they weren't prepared for the cold. We could also raise a much larger army than we have at the moment. Plus fighting would take place in mjaor cities that most people live a know much better than any invading force so we'd have the upper hand.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I'd be the first one to volunteer to join the army when I head they were invading.

Well.. I live in Canada, so if we were invaded by.... anyone, I would resist. If it were the US, I would be running to sign up for military duty as fast as possible.

As an American, I'm sure I'd be "expected" to; but as someone who's lazy and most likely would get killed, I'd prefer not to.

I'd probably loudly shit myself, and then I'd attempt to run away to a country that wasn't getting invaded. Failing that I'd pray to several deities that the invaders take me as a prisoner and don't try skull fucking me to death.

I live in the capital city, and guns are very difficult to get. It would be difficult to fight back.

I would sign up. A country needs every person it can to sustain its defense. Besides, it would only be a matter of time before my home country froze the invaders to death, so the conflict would likely be rather short.

Of course. America has stuck its dick in too many pies so American citizens would be screwed no matter who invaded just on past hate. The Uk would be the same way.

So yes, I would resist. What was that movie with Patrick Swazey (I think) where he got a bunch of rag tag citizens to resist a russian army attack? And besides, I'd rather die an American (with native american blood no less) in defense of my land then live under a rule of some bastards who felt the need to uproot and destroy everything I knew and loved, and tried to change it.

Theres a book series (and a bad movie) about Australia getting invaded by ummm asians I think. "Tomorrow when the war began"

Basically if they hit the capital cities then we could be taken over, though I dont think the country would be very easy to overrun with the harsh climiate and its sheer size, it would be easy to hide out in the bush, mabye even do a little gurella warfare like they do in the books
