A serious discussion thread, from me. Of all people.... anyways, question in title, if your kid grew up to be something you REALLY didn't want them to be. And not like if they want to be a baker but you wanted them to be a Mathematician but YOU DISHONORED THE FAMILY!

Personally if my daughter became a porn star I would be deeply ashamed and cut all relations to her. If she became something like a Macdonalds worker for her whole life I would be ashamed but of course support her when she needs it.The hard part might be when I'm on the inter webs and a porn clip MAGICALLY pops up out of my control seriously how the hell did it get there wasn't me i swear... and I recognize who the girl is. And after realizing it, take a 2 hour bath.

So if your kid put shame on your family, how would you treat this case of sever dishonor? BTW mods let me know if I need to change the title.

I don't have children, or want children, but if she/he/Both? then I'd disown him/her. I'd say he/she is embarassing him/her-self by mating on display. This is coming from a person that hates most teens and children so. It really all depends on the job though, porn star is somthing I wont accept. I can't really think of another "dishonourable" job. I wouldn't go too far if it's just a job I'd rather he/she wasn't in. "Depends" is my answer then.

Except a douche. My kid could be a pornstar, a garbage disposal person, even a criminal (within reason) and I wouldn't disown them. In the latter case I might be ashamed, depending on the crime. But I'd still love them. But if my child exhibits a total lack of respect for other people, I will lose respect for them as a person and myself as a father.

before we go any further I believe high fives are in order. that is if my son became a porn star. if my daughter became a porn star I'd ask her to send me a list of every video she's in so I don't accidentally rent it, and make sure to tell me when she's working if we live close to each other in case I want to go over randomly and you know do what ever it is annoying intrusive parents do. I want to make absolutely sure I DON'T see it. that being said as long as she's dong it because she likes it why the hell would I care. do you know how awesome it is to make a career out of sex?

Honestly I can say I'd be a pretty biased father: In the case of a son "Very nice!" but a daughter ooooh nooooo /wrist status

It might be hard, but I believe all parents should support whatever their child decides to do.

frankly i wouldn't care if my kid became a porn star. the thing is they're doing something they enjoy and if having sex for money is what they want to do with their lives, all the power to them, i'd support them. mind you i'd ask them to tell me what titles they are in so i don't accidentally come across them when i'm "vulnerable" cause i'd really not want that
