They're definitely circling the drain now, I was in today and almost all of their used games were a fiver and under; you can pick up the first two Resistance games for four quid!
On the downside, the reason I was in there in the first place was to pick up a copy of the Jak and Daxter HD collection but not a single store (including HMV) had it because they all dealt almost exclusively in second-hand games.
I'm starting to see the issue with second-hand game sales now...
What issue would that be? Being sold out of something isn't unique to used game stores, especially when said store is going under and has everything on sale. If GAME is like Gamestop, then they sell both new and used so they are more likely to have a particular game in stock than stores than ONLY sell new.
You clearly misunderstood what I was saying, these stores have next to
no new games, regardless of when they were released. It isn't that they've sold out: they aren't selling anything that isn't second-hand.
Every single one of the stores I mentioned has, at most, a single bay for first-hand games and then four or five for used ones; and this was going on in Game before they started going under (HMV still does it).
One of the Gamestations I visited didn't even have a section for first-hand PS3 games, which makes finding new releases (especially ones with niche appeal like the HD collections) nigh on impossible.
