Ignorance from non-gamers

I dont know about that specific issue but i must say that Roger Ebert's "games aren't art" statement rubbed me the wrong way.

If they can call movies art and not games because there are some games who clearly dont dissever the art label (and i dont mean that like, that a game is artsy), i just ask them to take a look at movies like "Gayniggers from outerspace" (it's a real movie, its danish, and its not porn. a friend of mine who mentioned this movie got a probation period of a week).

I think that is the real problem. Besides, it's obviouslky a kids game! So a kid would enjoy it. It will have been reviewed from perspective of a child playing it.

I fully understand your anger, but this point needs a better example. Most games for the Wii are accepted as casual.

The worst is going to a site with the initials NL and saying anything against Nintendo products period. For the most part the members will spread lies and if you correct them on it you are wrong (such as one person saying that the Phillips CD-I Zelda and Mario games were unauthorized or that Sony was the one who screwed over Nintendo with Playstation). Most of the users are non-gamers or gamers who came in off the Wii hype.

Those are the ones I can't stand, the ones who because they now have their first system they now are an expert on everything that has ever happened in the past of gaming, trumping those of us who lived through it and followed it from day one.

OT: Carnival is a crappy game, but mostly because of bad controls. As far as non gamers...why would I talk to a non gamer about games? I don't talk to vegetarians about steaks....
