A huh. I liked the original Starcraft, but that's showing a a lot more brand loyalty than I have towards the franchise.

Okay, here's what Blizzard should have done many many years ago to keep their franchises fresh. Make Starcraft II the next diablo game. Make diablo III an RTS prequal to diablo. I would play that. I would play that *so hard*.

I would buy Starcraft 2 even if it was a direct copy of Starcraft 1 with shiny grahpics.

I'd love for new depth to the gameplay, for the resourcing to be a bit quicker, and for more interesting unit control but I'd still buy it even if it was a copy with a facelift (oh, and a new story).

SC=Starcraft. 10 million sales and best RTS ever award says so.

Soul Edge (Which is like Soul Calibur 0.5) was released 2 years before StarCraft so that means followers of the series are older veterans of gaming than you.

I'm unaware of Soul Calibur 4's sales but in the first few days of release it sold 2 million copies.

Not true. I've always assumed SC=Starcraft, even having played (thoroughly) Soul Edge->Soul Calibur 4.

I actually read it as Star Control 2... for which there even is a free version now. So why buy at all?
