I'm 13. Is that a problem?

I'm a 13-year-old boy who likes video games. No Halo or MW2, but Mario and Zelda. But, according to some, we are a race of loud-mouthed-XBox-loving-curse-flinging-homo-phobia-ing(?) idiots with no taste. I'm a little tired of this segregation between the two age groups.
In a wider sense, 13-year-olds on the internet are a problem too. All our videos on youtube apparently suck and we should GTFO because we are a waste of space.
Why?

Well the vocal majority of american and english boys your age are, as you put it, "a race of loud-mouthed-XBox-loving-curse-flinging-homo-phobia-ing idiots with no taste". Trust me, I was 13 three years ago.

However, this is your oppotunity to prove the stereo-type wrong. You sound more reasonable than most people that age and you're capable of stringing a sentence together so you should make your voice heard.

Actually a few people I've met from 5-15 are douchebags on forums, PSN, XBL and the internet in general.
The fact that you're 13 isn't the problem, the problem would be if you were a know-it-all douche who cannot think properly, but you don't seem like a know it all douche so you're fine.

It is only a problem if you make it one. as long as you are respectful, as all players should be, and understand that your voice because of your age can be irritating to others, you will be fine. I've played with those with "girly" voices, some of them girls, and as long as they do not attempt to inflame others and keep their mic use to game related topics I have no problem.

I'm sick of the unfair treatment towards younger people. Most of those that are being mean to 13 year olds were playing videogames themselves at the age of 13. True there are some really immature little kids out there, but there are also some immature adults out there as well. It's not like they can control the sound of their voice, how does that make them any worse? I've been playing videogames since I was 4 years old. Had I not been given the opportunity to learn from a younger age, I wouldn't be playing them today. I'd probably be playing soccer, or (ew) hockey. Encourage the young gamers!

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize holding an opinion on a subject you don't agree with makes me a troll - then again on this site it probably does, a troll is someone posting to get a reaction, correct?

So in posting this thread, with no real post count to speak of, claiming "I'm 13, but I'm not annoying (honest) why do people dislike the majority of 13 year olds?" doesn't look like a troll thread attempting to create people arguing over the idea? Fair enough he might not be, which is why I didn't question him further, but it certainly appeared suspicious. Then again people on this site will always attempt to hold the moral high ground even if it make them (in this case, you) appear to have completely missed the point of the persons post...
