Haha, Sonic. I don't blame them really. I reckon they feel pretty sorry for Sega and release their games out of courtesy, or pity. So one day Sega will have enough money to build another console and add a bit more competition to the race.Cahlee post=9.70230.688614 said:The only thing that kindof irked me about this thread is the statement that Nintendo is trying new things. Sure, console wise perhaps, but comeone on! Mario, Zelda, Sonic! Need I say more?
Btw, I agree with you on the rest, I own a WII. It rocks!
Ace, I had Aladdin too. I have to mention Comix Zone. That's my favourite Mega Drive\Genesis game. Available on Wii's virtual console too.Cahlee post=9.70230.688632 said:God I loved Sega! Aladdin was the only game I could beat my brother at when we were growing up. I have it on my Mac now!
Hehe, thanks. Even if I don't have a shelf full of Wii games yet (only got about 6), I've still got loads for the Cube and DS.Andy Anonymous post=9.70230.688656 said:If you take a look at Nintendo's own releases, they fall into line like this (abbreviated list):
Core games:
Zelda Twilight Princess
Super Paper Mario
Metroid Prime 3
Super Mario Strikers Charged
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario Kart Wii
Casual games:
WiiSports
Big Brain Academy
WiiFit
So, the idea that Nintendo is somehow leading the charge certainly doesn't hold water. I guess it's all the casual shovelware from people like Ubisoft?
Look. When you've got a console that has all those games in the upper list -- one of which won GOTY from many gaming sites last year -- plus non-first party ones I didn't mention, I don't think any adult should feel the least bit of shame or discomfort in owning that console.
The comic it was based on is French isn't it? Or are there English versions out there too?.............if you know. Thanks!Cyclomega post=9.70230.688449 said:Hard to tell, I don't remember it as a commercial success and the comics series is over, the last story was published this year.
There are big chances this game will stay as a one-shot...
You mean the good part of the game. Unfortunately though you could complete the game without doing those particular missions.poleboy post=9.70230.685092 said:I'm sorry, what? What the hell game was that guy playing? Or did he only play for five minutes before making his biased verdict? Because SMS includes some of the most anal, unforgiving EVIL platform levels I have EVER experienced in my twenty years of playing video games. Some of the levels where you lose the watergun and have to navigate huge rotating mazes surrounded by a childish rendition of space made me simply put down my controller in complete apathy and sob quietly. That game broke my hardened spirit with a colorful grin and a wink, and cheerfully suggested that I could have a few more lives if I wanted to try again.
I think you had to do at least a few of those missions, but I could be wrong. I haven't played the game in years. My point was that the game has content that a child with little video game experience does not have a chance in hell of completing. Surely those parts were made with adults/experienced gamers in mind?Decoy Doctorpus post=9.70230.690878 said:You mean the good part of the game. That error was with starting Wii games only, in which as I said, if you turned down the Wiimote volume it went away. It was an odd glitch in early Wii programming. It's actually very accurate of a system, and you don't have to play like that, almost every game allows for the option to use a Game Cube, Nun-chuck(racing games for this example), or Classic Controller. Besides, it's suppose to pick up a strong FPS market as Valve said they love the Wii and it's idea.Jobz post=9.70230.688211 said:Well I've never had a problem with my 360, and I prefer being able to use analog sticks and buttons to aim, move and perform actions. Rather than having to swing and lunge with a little plastic box to do anything in a game.
I don't know if anyone else had this problem, but I found the Wiimote to be very unreliable One moment it worked flawlessly, next moment I'm pointing it at the left side of the screen and it refuses to move from the middle. Games requiring you to hold it on it's side and tilt it forward to move (Mario Kart Wii) were even worse, as you have to turn the thing almost completely upside down for it to go anywhere.
I personally hate the Wii and don't really understand what children (And certain adults I suppose) find so great about it. But hey man, whatever floats your boat.
Thanks mate, aprreciated.Cyclomega post=9.70230.690833 said:No idea, I live in France, so I only read the French version, same for Largo Winch.
It's a Franco-Belgian comic in fact.

Apparently there have been releases in English, but not with much success...
For a lot of good Wii games you've to dig around because they don't really advertise much, and I don't understand why.MacBauer post=9.70230.690959 said:I really can't seem to get any good use out of my Wii.
Basically the game selection seems to suck and the only one I've really enjoyed is SSBB (I've played it since N64 days so I guess that makes me a fanboy) and Fire Emblem Radiant dawn, everything else just seems...bad?
I thought their ads just consisted of 20 seconds of a pre-rendered video of Mario and a voice over shouting "MARIO!...........MARIO!..........MARIOOOOOOO!........only on wii!" - Even they're not trying anymore.LivemeLifefree post=9.70230.691003 said:For a lot of good Wii games you've to dig around because they don't really advertise much, and I don't understand why.MacBauer post=9.70230.690959 said:I really can't seem to get any good use out of my Wii.

Duchovny is not an actor I enjoy a lot, and he wouldn't match XII's hardened looks...dannydamage post=9.70230.690994 said:Thanks mate, aprreciated.Cyclomega post=9.70230.690833 said:No idea, I live in France, so I only read the French version, same for Largo Winch.

EDIT: It says on there that a XIII film starring Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff is currently in production with a planned release in 2009. Shame they didn't get Dave Duchovny back to play XIII, seeing as he's a real actor too, unlike Val Kilmer.
Suppose if the film did well, they'd discuss a follow up of the games, maybe.
I meant a lot of good third party games aren't, but I've only seen SMG advertisement when it first came out. It could be the fact I live in the USA and have network TV. And Rusman, I'll agree with you there.dannydamage post=9.70230.691008 said:I thought their ads just consisted of 20 seconds of a pre-rendered video of Mario and a voice over shouting "MARIO!...........MARIO!..........MARIOOOOOOO!........only on wii!" - Even they're not trying anymore.LivemeLifefree post=9.70230.691003 said:For a lot of good Wii games you've to dig around because they don't really advertise much, and I don't understand why.MacBauer post=9.70230.690959 said:I really can't seem to get any good use out of my Wii.

And that's coming from a self confessed Nintendo Whore!
I don't mind DD to be honest, big X-Files fan.Cyclomega post=9.70230.691015 said:Duchovny is not an actor I enjoy a lot, and he wouldn't match XII's hardened looks...
Kilmer is an equally bad choice, but to be fair, I don't know who would have looked good...
Maybe Ewan MacGregor or Liam Neeson (who was awesome in Taken), if only their roles in SW did not humiliate them that much...
