I'm a bit paranoid... should I be? (PSN question)

So the Playstation store is finally back up (yay!) and I can't wait to use the $20 gift card I've been sitting on for a month. But I'm kind of hesitant to even put the money on my account. I don't have any real basis for fear but I'm afraid there might be fluke in the network (they did rebuild the whole network after all) and something might happen to my money.

Am I right to be a little paranoid? Or is my fear totally unfounded?

I'm sure it'll be fine. There's going to be a lot less info on there now and it'll be a lot harder to get to, probably not worth the effort to hack.

I'm not buying anything from it with my credit card still for the time being, but one of those prepaid card things should be fine. Just spend as much of it as you can maybe, so that it won't matter if it goes missing lol.

Hackers did talk about another attack, but after the month that Sony put in to reinforce their system, it should be fine. I'd do it.

All right. Thanks for the support. It's not that I don't trust Sony did a good job (with that kind of bad PR, I'm sure they did a fabulous job) it's just I'm more open to the idea that things do get hacked and I tend to blow things out of proportion

Noone is (openly) planning on hacking the PSN again. Sony, yes, but Sony does more than just games. Example, LulzSec just hacked Sony Pictures, which doesn't deal with games at all.

You should live your life in fear!

You stand a better chance of losing money if you go to a restaurant. Here in Houston there was alot of problems where a waiter would skim someones card with a pen reader when you paid for your bill.

I can never understand the big worry about all this. If you don't have a bank that issues you a new card in 5 days you need to find a new bank. In today's world where people rely on a card for everything and it feels like there are more cyber thieves - you will never ever be safe.
