There is a continuum here that people are ignoring, it seems.

Far left does not a healthy society make. NOR does far right. We need to meet each other in the middle.

Its this back and forth between TOTAL CONTROL and TOTAL HANDS OFF (very very simplified) that keeps screwing with people.

Why can't we just find a happy medium and stick with it? That'd be far too simple and it would require a great number of people to realize that their doctrine isn't the perfect end all solution. Humility is so hard to come by..

All of these "They're going to give your hard-earned money to somebody else!" arguments really suck, in my opinion.

I know I benefit greatly from economic and social inequality. I make more money than the average American and far, far more money than the average human being specifically because of education and social class. I know that there is no way for the people who produce most of the products and service I use to make as much as I do: there simply aren't enough resources to go around. My lifestyle depends not only on my work, but on their work, too -- and they're working for lower wages than what I collect.

Why the hell should I be freaking out about a bit of my income going towards giving them some of the stuff that the "free market" can't give back to them?

I would place my beleifs much more closely alongside those of continental European Socialist parties, most notably that of Germany, or the traditional Labour party in the UK before it becam 'New Labour'.
Have you seen what the Labour parties 'Cradle to Grave' welfare ideology has done to Britain? Have you seen the cost of the NHS(~£1400 ($2000) per person per year)? Did you know they gave us the £135/year TV License, which means having a £200 TV for 5 years ends up costing you £875?

I'm sure redistribution of the wealth is an amazing concept and would fix the worlds problems, but hot damn is it inefficient. And the problems really don't go away from it.

I don't think people should be worrying about what systems of government/econonomics are superior. No, from reading this tripe what's more concerning is the lack of education. This is reflected from poor grammar to extremely poor spelling. If I had to leave it up to these people to pick and choose the best system of government or economics I'd be extremely worried.

I know some people don't use English as their native tongue, but some posts here are just butchered. There are lots of people online who don't natively speak/read/write English, but they're often competent enough to get a basic sentence out.

Jesus Harold Christ people... "poar"? And you think you're qualified to ascertain which systems of government/economics are better?
