I'm a PC gamer and I just got a hand me down PS3... what games should I play?

But the one that usually slips under peoples radar, Fat princess. Absolutely play fat princess. It is perhaps the best PSN game (though you can now get a hard copy of it as a Best of PSN bundle)

Another good thing about having a PS3 is that over the last couple of years there have been bundled re-releases of franchises of games with their "Collection" series

Journey, The Last of Us seem interesting.

Meh... most games that thrill me are on PC.

The complete Mass Effect Trilogy is available for it now, so get on that. Stupid ending or no, it's one of the best franchises of the last console generation.

It is available on PC. Him being a PC gamer, so the thread opener might have gotten it already, if it is intersting to him

Dragon's Dogma(the 360 is a bit better in terms of performance but still a great game)

I found myself in a similar situation to you, except replace PS3 with an XBOX360. Before it broke completely (it was already having troubles, we pulled it apart to get it working but you still had to smack the top of it to make the disk tray open, and it would take a great many attempts to read the disk, ultimately it stopped because it red ringed a little while later.

Either way, Catherine was the game I played through - a little nsfw(no real nudity, but adult themes... cover makes it look more sus than it actually is) but definitely 100% worth playing, it's a puzzle game with an awesome storyline/atmosphere/symbolism/etc, so cannot recommend enough.

PROPER Devil May Cry titles (naturally excludes NT and 2)have been available in the PS Store for ages. Classic fast-paced hack 'n slash series you should not miss.

I'm a die-hard PC gamer, I bought my PS3 years ago for Rock Band and blu-ray movies when they were new. Pretty much the only things I really played on it that I'd recommend are Red Dead Redemption and the RB series, if it's still available. Everything else decent is also available and better on PC. Demon's Souls was great but I enjoy Dark Souls a lot more, and I have that on both PS3 and PC.

Show me where the Tales of games are since I don't see any for the PC... -__-

I've been playing games on PC for as long as I can remember, but about a week ago my brother tells me that a friend of his doesn't want his PS3 anymore. Because my brother already has a PS3, he asks me if I'd like to have it, complete with every game he owns, for free. The only problem with that "every game he has" part is that just like my brother, the guy bought a PS3 for Gran Turismo 5. So I got a PS3 and GT5. Still, free console, awesome.

Now I'd love to hear some recommendations, because other than GT5 and Uncharted, which I've been wanting to play for years now, I don't really know anything else. Please bear in mind that I'm a PC gamer first, so I'm mainly interested in PS3/console exclusives.

I guess I'm looking for third person shooters/action/adventure/rpgs. But anything goes, really. Maybe I'll even try a FPS with a controller.

Infamous and to a lesser extend Infamous 2 are good PS3 exclusive titles. The mechanics are well suited to the PS3 and probably offer a different experience to what your used to as a PC gamer so worth a look.

The Killzone series and Resistance series are two solid PS3 exclusive shooter series, although they are 1st person.

If you like Uncharted then the Tomb Raider Trillogy might be worth a look. Doesn't cost a fortune and three games in one,

Metal gear Solid 4 is a solid action-adventure come stealth offering, although you have to put up with a hell of alot of world setting and the tone is a little more grim than it needed to be.

The God of War series might be worth a look too but i would advise you to pick one up and only pick up the rest if you really like it, as each game is really just more of the same.
