Man, I can't help not suggest MGS4, it's easily the best game on the system in my opinion. But if you're sure... I'd have to agree with inFamous.

The Orange Box its old but still fun its also for the 360 and PC so its not an axclusive it contains these games:
Half-Life 2 and episodes 1 and 2
Portal
and Team Fortress 2
UGH! do NOT get orange box for the ps3, if you're going to get it for any platform get it for the PC. Valve has, for the most part, completely abandoned the ps3 like an unwanted bastard child. Orange box ps3 hasn't gotten any of the updates the pc or xbox versions have gotten. Valve has made numerous statements that they feel the ps3 is a waste of time to build the capital to effectively program for. They're a PC developer, so I can't blame them for feeling this sentiment, hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Anyway, bottom line is don't buy any valve products on the PS3.

After the massive disappointment of Halo 3 (10/10 from everywhere) and the minor disappointment of Ocarina of Time (contrary to popular belief that has not aged well, if it was once as good as people say it was), I prefer to ignore review scores. I also would prefer not to sit through 9 1/2 hours of cutscenes, especially when I could have more fun watching the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy in that time.

Thanks for recommending Wipeout HD though, I'd forgotten about that.
Well I won't twist your arm about it, MGS4 really is a game made for the fans of the MGS series, meaning those who've played through 1-3. Not that someone who's never played the original 3 couldn't enjoy it, but certainly there would be far less to appreciate.

It's deffinately a different gaming experience than halo 3, the game is a good deal more complicated and there's just alot more to do. Halo 3 was really just a generic shooter, metal gear at its core is a stealth game. The boss fights are (and always have been) epic, and the stealth game play is deffinately is just as strong as it ever was. If you don't buy it, at least consider renting it just to try it out.

Also, I think there are more like 5-7 hours of cutscenes (in a 20 hour game), not 9 1/2. People tend to exaggerate online. I know its hard not to listen to the squawking masses (xbox trolls) but don't ignore the game just because it has alot of cutscenes.
