The Excelsior- I liked the poem, sue me. It means "ever upwards," in Latin. It's also a favortie catchphrase of Stan Lee.

The DeLorian- When this boat hits 88 knotts per hour, we're going to be in for some serious stuff.

The Seaquest- I liked the TV show when it was on. A little cheesey, but good.

The S.S better than Superman, Batman,...... *Gun shot*. I've no idea how he got on my account.

Call it "The Escape" since your escaping life's problems by going fishing and it pertains to this site.

The Nebuchadnezzar
(from the Matrix)
Pain in the butt if they charge by the
letter to put it on the side of the boat.

AS the title says, I've managed to scratch together enough money to buy myself a small boat to go fishing offshore in. I haven't bought the boat yet, still looking for a good one that isn't too expensive or run down. However, as I'll be taking her offshore, she'll need a name to use with the Australian Volunteer Marine Rescue VHF radio monitoring.

I would like no funny names or pun based names. For reference, my first car was a rust bucket and called the Millenium Falcon, and my current car is called Serenity. I don't have any GFs still on good terms, so I can't name her after any of them either, Dammit.

So Escapees (Escapist's?), GO!
If you've played Half Life 2 at all, it will have to be the Borealis.

But if I had a boat, I'd probably go with Amaranth. It is the name of a flower that almost never fades all year around, and is a symbol of immortality.

Something sci-fi related? Maybe something like "Red Dwarf", "Defiant" or "Moya" (cookie to whoever gets that last reference).
