Next to nothing top do with PSN? My man!

-Blu-Ray player included. BR beats DVD in shiny movies any day of the week.
-Decent exclusives (MGS4, Killzone, LBP, Mass Effect 2 in the ME3 graphic engine)
-There are some wicked old PS1 games avaialble. Granted, you would need the PSN and some money for it (I'd recommend those cards you can buy on stores. Credit Card online was stupid in the first place). Such as Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear Solid, Abe's Oddesy, FF7/8, etc.

...aside from that, there really is no major difference you will notice unless you want to argue about the nitpicking performance. "Oh no! Crysis 2 works ever so slightly more better on 360!"

In the end, it is your choice to make, which usually comes down to game availability.

I must say, the PS3 I have has lasted me little over 5 years, and is still working wonderfully.
Other than that, I can't really say anything else that other people haven't already stated.

There's about five exclusive games apiece for the 360 and PS3.

Microsoft generally shells out cash for exclusives, timed or otherwise.

Sony offers free online.

Sony's superior machine may lead to a better experience.

Microsoft's Box is cheaper, which allows you to purchase more games with the console.

Microsoft Points are funner than PSN Points, as you can haggle, mess with exchange rates, and get them cheap with in-store deals.

Big American companies like Xbox, big Japanese companies like Playstation.

It's really a crapshoot.

I personally enjoy my PS3.
My games are:
Call of Duty 4, MW2, and Black Ops (Call me a fanboy)
Grand Theft Auto IV
Metal Gear Solid 4
Portal 2
The Orange Box
Borderlands
Sonic Genesis Collection
Ratchet and Clank.
I personally got the PS3 because I enjoy the exclusives more than on the Xbox, liek Metal Gear, and Uncharted. There are a few drawbacks though, if you like your online, it doesn't come with a headset, like the 360, but you don't have to pay 60 a year just to play online.
But, it is down now D:

PS3 has the backlog of games from the PSX (and if you get an earlier model, PS2) for you to use, which are very high quality and games worth playing. That, and the PS3 has a lot better sports games than either of the other 2 consoles, and a lot better RPGs/whatever you call Heavy Rain.

Highly recommend getting one, if you can.

Oh, and the FF series, the inFamous series, Heavy Rain, the Uncharted Series, MGS series, the Gran Turismo series, and MLB: The Show are all fantastic exclusive games series' on it.

As the Subject states, I'm considering getting a PS3, on top of my Xbox 360s, and my Wii. The entirety of me purchasing this console would merely be for the exclusives, and the Digital Downloadable classics, and very little to do with the PSN otherwise.
So, convince me in either direction.

Please note: Any comments "Sony is Ghey" or "Microsoft sucks" will be requested to be deleted to a moderator, and if it persists, I will have this locked, and drop the entire issue. Also, any references to the Playstation Network crashing as a sole reason not to will be requested deletion as well. I want serious discussion.
A PS3 would be kinda cool to have, but buy it after the PSN network goes back online.

I would suggest it, with games like StarHawk, Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, inFamous 1/2, The Last Guardian, MotorStorm Apocalypse, and Twisted Metal. There is a bit more.

Good investment.
you forgot metal gear solid

When you get your PS3, I highly recommend Wipeout HD. I myself generally dislike racing games, but I adore Wipeout. It the racing is fast and tight, and the aesthetic of the game is incredibly slick. Plus, if you get the expansion pack, Fury, you're essentially doubling the amount of content you have to play with; it's that huge.

Also, The Last Guardian.

I can't say I've been most pleased with it but I also can't say I'm Not really looking forward to Starhawk.
Still. I bet there's another price cut in the near future. I would wait for that.

I like my 360 for some hardcore gaming, and my PS3 is used for FUN.

As an achievement whore, the 360 is my biggest time sink and what I use for serious, hardcore completion. As for the PS3, it's nice to kick back, relax, shoot stuff, and not worry about every goddamned collectible the I MUST GET in order to break the XX000 point mark.

In short, my 360 is for WORK, and the PS3 is for PLAY.

LA Noire gets a custom / exclusive level only on the PS3. Also after Sony is finished upgrading I'd say it's probably going to be a very secure system. Metal Gear is cool too.
