Were it to turn out to be true? Well, too bad. Natural selection won.

Even if someone actually posted, he would probably just suicide the next day after he had seen his shoes getting untied.

Well i'd comment askinng if this it bullshit or not and then when replied I'd ask if him replying to the thread meant he had to kill himself. Also he'd be dead by the time I got to the thread since I doubt anyone ever posts on a thread in it's first 30 seconds.

Even if it were true, it would be a completely ridiculous cry for attention. "I'm going to die unless someone posts every 30 seconds", oh please. That makes sense. None.

So, lets say a user posts on the Escapist that they will die in 24 hours unless the thread gets replied to every 30 seconds. This user is deadly serious, either threating suicide or something along the lines of a sick hostage negotiation.

Don't negotiate with terrorists.

If threatening suicide, just lock it. If threatening a hostage, forward to FBI.

EDIT: Also, if the deadline is not met. Who is to blame for their death?

Who's to blame? Themselves. They are the ones stupid enough to kill themselves because they didn't get a post with too many views.
