I put $60 in my PayPal for my Skyrim preorder...effing Gamestop won't actually take the money until release day, which means I have enough internet money sitting in my account to binge on Steam sales...it has been difficult.

Pretty much everything that comes out this November...Espescially Skyward Sword and Skyrim.

I will also have to buy Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 eventually.
You could always play Skyrim until you have sufficient funds for Zelda. That's my plan :)

I live on my own and have to worry about gas and food, my bills (not counting lights) are covered until I get a well paying job. that being said, I was in deep trouble this month for the exact reason.

I've had this a lot this year. I had it with the likes of Skyrim and Batman: Arkham City. I had it when I saw the Collector's Edition of Sonic Generations, and I must admit I'm getting it from looking at the trailer for Fallout New Vegas' Lonesome Road DLC, even though I thought the first one (Dead Money) was crap, and Honest Hearts was needlessly easy-to-fail.

No, not really. I budget my money well and make enough that I can occasionally spend money on videogames and such while still saving plenty.

When a game is announced, I pay for it in full, which in the long run, is nice, because then I can just go in and pick it up when its released, LIKE A BOSS

I'm afraid my massive fanboy glands will force me to do your strategy backwards, as it is already driving me crazy that those dang Europeans get the game 2 days before we do.

Well judging that I bought all my books for school I had money and I thought "you know what I want a tattoo" so I started to save up but then I went to gamestop and my plan has since backfired and I have every must have game through the next year preordered and all the money I had is gone. I still have to pay my phone bill too >.>

Happens to me a lot. I'm really praying that I don't have this issue much this school year. I need to save money for my inevitable move out. And I want a dog...so whatever is leftover from the move will be put towards that. Hopefully, it will be enough. I would like a furry companion for my first apartment (and many after that, hopefully).

But I do have this thought process quite a bit. I'm trying to work hard at it this year. Really hard. I think the thought of a wagging Corgi butt (maybe with a stub on it) will really spur on the savings.

The one time us "dang Europeans" get a release ahead of you yanks and you complain as if it's routine! What cheek! :p

Seriously though, there's no law that says you must buy games within the first week of release. If you're playing Zelda, then Skyrim would just be sitting on a shelf anyway. Maybe the price goes down in that time too. Who knows.

OT: Games suddenly go on sale so I buy them (curse you steam) but I've gotten good deals CIV 5 for 20 bucks I mean I almost felt like I was stealing.

Yeah, i remember I've bout a game without a second thought when I was trying to save. I think I did this with red dead redemption. I got the game itself pretty cheap though. But I liked it a lot so I just had to get all the DLC so I just bought that DLC bundle on PSN; no regrets! Because RDR is awesome!

As for November, I am actually being really smart and frugal about all the awesome games coming. I saved money (10 dollars at a time) to buy assassin's creed: Revelations, and when I had 50 dollars I went to gamestop and put that 50 towards it plus another 5 so I have that game almost paid off. Pre-ordered arkham city also and since it was a holiday for us Muslims last month my mom decided she would pay for arkham city so that was totally awesome. And my aunt also gave me 100 dollars because of the holiday so now i can get uncharted 3 and a headset.

I play videogames (With very few notable exceptions) a good year or two after everyone else; that way, I get all the same big name hits they do, but at a good 1/3 of the cost.

You all finished Dead Space 2? I just started Dead Space 1! And it cost me under 20$!

I can't imagine buying games when they come out; are you insane? That'd cost, like, 60$ per title!

The last time I "impulse buy"'d a game was Condemned 2 for 4.99$ at Gamestop.
