Oh, you should watch a David Lynch film. Eraserhead is this hilarious comedy about reality and marriage. Mulholland Drive or Blue Velvet are just a gas as well.

If you're really feeling inspired though, fire up Pink Flamingos and just enjoy the culture shock.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned The Big Lebowski!

Apart from that, try something like Dawn of the Dead, the original.

Cannibal Holocaust, 964 Pinnochio, Begotten...

Oh wait, not that kind of sick movie. Damn.

Erm, Shrek. Yeah definitely Shrek.
I just watched Cannibal Holocaust two days ago. It was hyped up to be all gross and whatnot, but turned out to be more of a somewhat boring social commentary.
Make that pseudo social commentary.

The only bit I found really gross was when they killed and opened up the turtle, the rest of it was just hilarious.

Yeah, I agree--the turtle and the giant rat were the most disturbing parts. Probably because neither of those things can be very good to eat, and the director stated that all of the animals that were killed in the film were about to be eaten by the tribe anyway. I think he was just BSing to try and cover his ass.

I find that I like the original Day of the Dead better than Dawn. However, I seem to be alone on this. Come on, Bub is the coolest zombie ever--he can shoot a gun, for chrissake.

I'm afraid that's why I can't get with that film. Zombies illuminate what it is to be human by their utter opposition to living people, that's why zombie films work. Zombies should be unrelenting, non-reasoning primal forces which cannot be stopped without severe offense. This creates a world in which panic and terror sets in. Once you can reason or understand a zombie they cease to have the same scaryness.

I was just sick, and I watched some Mystery Science Theater 3000. Always seems to help, for some reason.

Stargate SG1 and Atlantes both series are pretty damn good and good for a week of being ill.

Pirates of the Caribbean,Star wars,LOTR trilogy's are all good.

Hellboy is a personal favorite, and the mummy movies even scorpion king is a guilty pleasure.
