Huh? I seriously doubt someone who's been here for more than 4 years and has purchased a Pub Club membership would be a ban-jumper.

Firstly, ban-jumpers typically don't fly under the radar for that long. And secondly, ban-jumpers typically don't put their own hard-earned money into their sockpuppets.

Yeah, this site has fallen apart over the last few years, which is why people keep claiming that the place has been, or is about to be, ruined forever and have been doing so as long as I can remember.

Sure, there's a long list of annoyances caused by this site, but nothing too bad. In particular, their journalism has improved a lot, got rid of blatant clickbait titles.

Prominent posters have never been safe from bans on this forum, anyone else remember MaxtheReaper or Furbert, and that's a good thing. The even-handed moderation is one of the pros of this site and despite some meddling up high from last year, remains consistent. You're right that people are at each others throats more now, and honestly at this point the staff should just bite the bullet and mandate that you know what topic, whether pro or anti, stays firmly off the forums and in usergroups. It was done with MLP years ago to avoid repeated flame wars, it can be done now.

Anyhow, me? I'm staying with this ship until it goes down, or I go down.

I understand your frustration and annoyance because most of the topics become so toxic that it's pathetic. Any topic just goes off topic in 3 post. I basically come here for news, comics, and more or less any discussion that isn't overtly serious or doom and gloom. I only came to this because there seems to be a plethora of 'WAAAHHH I'M LEAVING' threads lately. But as others have said, much like the PC Gaming Industry, this site has been 'dying' for years, and it will continue to die for ages.

@OP I'm not sure man, I think the site is doing fine in terms of discussions - as fine as it always has. I've only been on her a couple of days lately, but I will agree that it seems moderator wrath is being thrown around quite frivolously. Then again, as I recall that is also nothing new; so maybe the website hasn't really changed all that much at all.

I think you( and a lot of people) are just peojecting your insecurities on the OP. is he not allowed to say what's on his mind and explain why he's leaving? Maybe JUST maybe someone will take this as constructive criticism and take steps to revitalizing a once thriving site.

I don't feel much loss with your departure as I've never even heard of you, so I've no clue who you think you are or how prominent you might be but apparently not enough. Either you're hiding who you are behind a name or you've an overblown sense of your own worth, either way it sounds like arrogance to me and I'm not sad to see you go as the less arrogant folk around the better IMO.
Either way, it hasn't been that bad of a place since I came here in 2008, though I lurked without an account til a few years later and its gone through ups and downs since then. I've been on far worse sites personally.

Isn't the site in the middle of revitalising? Bringing on new content to make up in loss for the others? Sure, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it would have an audience. There may not be a wahh in leaving but there is when someone makes a thread about it, Especially when later in the thread that they don't want people to see them leave and that they hope they are forgotten. If the OP wants that why make a thread in the first place? All it does is make them seem like they are seeking attention just for the sake of it.
