Basically what I am looking for is a good free roaming game under $50, I have mostly outdated PC games so I really don't care how old the game is.

The Escape Velocity Series has always been a nice free roaming game series, especially with the list of plugins that people have made. Although, if you're into instant action, this game might not do it for you. But the demo for EV Nova is free, so go for it.

In my opinion, Borderlands is BY FAR the best option if you plan on playing multi player. Even if you're not, it's still a solid choice.
I don't think Saints Row 1 and 2 have been mentioned in this topic so far so I'll throw them out there as well. If you like the chaos and fun of the last generation GTA games, go far Saints Row because Rockstar really fucked up with GTA 4.

He never said he wanted a PC game, he only said that the games he currently has are mostly outdated pc games. And just because he has outdated pc games doesn't mean his pc itself is outdated, so he could very well play Oblivion or Fallout 3. My game is incredibly outdated and it can still run Oblivion. I swear, people don't read posts anymore, even before criticizing someone else for not reading them!

I'd probably recommend Red Dead Redemption, great story great multiplayer.

I'd probably have to say Saints Row, if your PC can handle it. I played it on console, and it was.amazing

Throw in Borderlands as well. A great FPSRPG, with good replayibility, and fun boss fights.
