im looking for some amazing techno. can people point me to the light please?

its funny, my dad used to be a raver so he has like 100 CD's of Techno and trance. none of it new tho. i think the last one he got was from like 1998. i should rip some of his songs tho...

anyway yeah i need really good techno so all help is welcomed!

its funny, i feel offplace because iv litterally grown up listening to techno from the first car ride home from the hospital according to my dad. i stopped listening to techno seems in the 6th grade.. well keeping up with it anyways. im trying to get back in and i cant see a place for me to reenter ahaha.

Christopher Lawrence's Trilogy Part One: Empire for me remains to this day the single best album I've ever heard put together by a techno DJ.

It's not so much "techno" as much as a blend between Trance and House, but the entire album starts out with a progressive beat and never lets go, increasing in intensity as the music plays on. Great stuff.

You can't go wrong with Armin Van Buuren. I'll second Pendulum. Pendulum is a bit more Drum & Bass or Jungle but still pretty awesome. Solar Fields is a little more out there, pretty good beats. Lunar is pretty relaxing and very helpful for writing papers.

I suggest using www.last.fm. You can search for artists you like, and it suggests similar ones and generally has previews available.

This is actually my favourite CD and has been since I bought it, when it came out.
Honestly I think if your after techno, then you should just rip the 1998 cds. It hasn't really improved on that, from what I can tell.

There's a guy online under the name Renard V that makes some pretty good, pretty wierd stuff. I don't remember where I found most of his stuff, but just try doing a Google search for him. I don't normally like techno but his speedcore stuff is really good.
