Well whatever you do, don't try practicing or anything, that'll just make it worse.

Well aside from the obvious which is practice;

Are you tired when your playing. Iv'e noticed when playing games that there is a point where I get so tired I become completely rubbish at the game im playing then when I get back to it another day I'm fine.

As for FPS games do you have okay latency if you are playing online against mates. Have you looked into strategies and tricks online like Left for Dead 2 has alot of good vids for using the undead characters effectively for example. RTS games are probably the same. I know a trick I used to use is to place random walls in the middle of nowhere so their troops might attack them and act as an early attack warning.

Basically my hint is to look further into the games you are playing using the internet there are alot of tricks you can pick up to improve your game.

Rather then practice do things like trick-shots and stuff with friends. As an example for MW2 go on a large map and just try for crazy no-scopes or throwing knife kills and stuff. you have fun and get better at the same time.

I can almost 100% accurately predict that this happened when you started playing modern games. Start playing FPS/RTS games from older generations, problem solved.

For RTS I would say change up your strategy, use as few units as possible with increasing enemy numbers. Play with units you never use and see what you come up with.

@zombiekiller1907 What RTS game(s) do you play?

Well, when i get bored with a game. i try to make it funny again. Be awake for a long period of time until you reach a state of being humorously overtired, and strangely focused. for me this is after oh 1 3/4 days. (about 35-40 hours) Have a lot of energy drinks and/or soda.

This is what made me get back into Starcraft. i'd been bored with it for a while, then during a weekend LAN, i was awake for a long time. drank like... 4-6 liters of soda (yes i'm unhealthy, sue me), and i became entirely focused on the game while still getting that fun feeling, even when i lost.

I can't say this'll work for you specifically. I just know it works for me. Also, try to remember a few nostalgic moments from before. "Remember the time we got a headshot when i fired a sniper rifle on accident while facing a wall? good times."...AAGH, now you made me want to play CoD again.

When the feeling of fun returns (with or without nostalgia) it should get better.

TLDR: Get overtired, think of why you used to like it.
Also this is what works for me, hope it works for you too.

Just a nasty thought for on a gaming website: do you really need to have skillz that killz in gaming? You are obviously just bored with playing the same games over and over. In my philosophy games are just for fun and when you are getting stressed out about not being as good as you were, that's a slight indication you might want to do something else that might be more usefull IRL. Take for example: sports (helps when you've got a GF or similar), film directing (we're all nerds here, we've all got a camera) or try racing games.

All is not lost, there is so much more in the world to do. Don't be stressed out about a skill that most likely won't make you money. Take care!

i laughed when i saw that, and i think you have a point, older generation games are kinda different than today's games

Try challenging yourself constantly. Is a game fairly easy? Up the difficulty to the next level and if that's still a little too easy then up it again. Play some really hard games too

FPS- S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, Call of Duty 4 on veteran, Halo 3 Legendary with a few skulls on

Most NES games are evil
Ninja Gaiden series, try Ninja Gaiden Black and 2 on the hardest difficulty and prepare to cry
Guitar Hero 3 is brutal on your fingers, took me 2 years to beat it
Devil May Cry 3, dante must die mode (not the special edition, that one is much easier)

Finish all of them and you'll hate me but you'll be one hell of a gamer

I have an idea don't stress about being the best, just have fun. Whether you win or you lose it doesn't matter as long as your having fun. Also 5 times out of 10 you'll win during a match.
