Metal Gear Solid 4 is superb, if you can stand the cutscenes (which are skippable). Also there's Super Stardust HD on PSN, which is excellent.

Get Resistance 2 only if you already beat Fall of Man and want a story continuance, the gameplay is strictly worse. Killzone 2 was pretty fun, and actually difficult for a console shooter, which isnt saying much.

Does Disgaea 3 count?
YES.

anyway, i really want a ps3. I could get white knight whatever, disgaea 3, and many others...
all i have are 2 psps....
I thought White Knight Chronicles had potential, but in the end it was kind of "meh", the only selling point for me was the online play, but even that wasn't that great.

It's not a PS3 exclusive but...Get Blazblue if you like fighting games.

I cant really come up with anything else that hasnt been mentioned.

You should try Demon's Souls.
Also, if you haven't yet played The Saboteur you should try it on PS3. Especially if you like open-world games.

Also dont plan on playing any FPS games since most of the controls are made for midgets with tiny hands...R1 should never be shoot...

Also get the Move that Champion Sports (w/e) is pretty freakin sweet

I made this same decision a while back.
I got tired of the constant price-gouging
"Money"-Soft tried to get out of me.
No more.
I am officially flying the Sony Flagship Colors.

Hey all. I know this is a bit of a lame announcement, but i just wanted some insight.

I've got tired of the xbox, so im passing on the flame to my younger bro, he likes all the exclusives i like, gears of war, mass effect etc, but he wanted to get the new xbox, so i guess that works.

i was more attracted to the ps3 cause it has exclusives and little extras i like, for example, i know the xbox has more jrpg exclusives than the ps3, but there are other japanese games on the ps3 which i enjoy more.

anyway, im straying again, this thread was just to get any insights and opinions for the ps3, for example, is there any hidden gems of games which not many people know about but you know about?

this isnt a war debate, both consoles are great, i just want some creative but factual critism.

X3
If it were two years ago I would say the 360 was more appealing after a horrible launch and title selection and price of the PS3. I did something similar one year ago and got a PS3. My 360 is still around but not nearly played as much and canceled my xbox membership.

For games if you like rpg i would recommend Folklore for the ps3. It is from 2007 but it is a PS3 exclusive and if your into that kind of stuff it is definitely a title worth buying (should be cheap by now).

I don't know if Folklore was big when it was released but if you don't own it this is a must have title if you like any kind of rpg games.

Skipping the cutscenes in MGS4 is like buying a pen for looking at. If the cutscenes aren't for you, story doesn't matter. And if story doesn't matter, why are you buying MGS?

Dude, get mgs4 and infamous. For re-playability, you can sink some hours into infamous. Just go through demos on the ps store lol.

Just got InFAMOUS today, and it's AWESOME!
Other than that, God of war collection + God of War 3. Also gonna buy Demon's Souls soon, I heard that was pretty cool too.

How come no one's mentioned Flower, what has to be the greatest testament to the proper use of the Sixaxis. Also, I know many people might say no way....but since you can get it for cheap now, get Heavenly Sword. I loved it, it's a good game, I also fully agree with most of the ones people have posted already.

And then Heavy Rain, the greatest gem ever :p

I would get a PS3 also, but there's only 2 exclusives that really interest me:
Little Big Planet, I have so much fun on it at my friends house, we made justin bieber who actually sings and moves his mouth. He has flippers for hands and we dropped a giant shank on him
Heavy Rain, sounds interesting

Well since no one has mentioned it yet, get Yakuza 3. If you want to know what it's like, think of the combat of God Hand mixed with a free roaming Tokyo themed city similar to Red Dead Redemption or GTA4 but on a smaller scale. Seriously though, it is a fantastic game with a great story and loads of optional side quests to choose.

Other than that, just get some of the games that Dexiro has mentioned because he has assembled quite a good list of games. Although one game you have to get is Little Big Planet because it is hands down, the best game on the PS3.

True, but even without the story it's a brilliant stealth/action game and well worth playing.

Since you'll be on PS3, I'd recommend M.A.G. It's only on that system and it's pretty cool when you have a full game going (with like 200 players wandering around) - honestly though you only see about 1/4 of the action at any time since the maps are so large but it's pretty fun.

I think you should get Valkyria Chronicles. It's fun and makes you think. Even though the main staregy is "Gather up all units and rush the objective"
No it bloody well isn't! That results in a lot of overwatch fire, and a lot of dead soldiers.
