Final Fantasy X. I found it at a GameStop down at some outside mall in Los Angeles, but turned it down and bought DJ Hero instead.

Honestly, it was a good decision, since DJ Hero has turned into one of my favorite music games ever. But I don't know when I'll ever be able to find FFX again.

Resident Evil3 fr the Gamecube, I passed it up in Gamestop thinking I will get it next weeks but it was gone and I never saw them getting another copy. Luckily I got a PS3 so I just go it on the PSN

I didn't think I would be able to find Zelda:Wind Waker again after finding it for £4 in a shop. I eventually did find it again but for £10 this time, I also got the OoT/Master Quest disc with it!

I once found a game at Gamestop used for the PC. It had to do with spaceships and economy and war... kinda like a 4x game. I would know it if I saw it but I forgot the title. I was suppose to go back and buy it in 3 days but when I did, it was gone. Everytime I saw Genesis Rising in stores it always reminded me of that game.

Yeah, I once passed Deus Ex because it was too expensive (I didn't work at the time and was wary of asking my mom for too much money) and I didn't think it'd run in my computer.

It worked out because about a year later I found it for one third the price on a magazine. Then I bought it.

It didn't run in my computer indeed, but a few months later I got a new one (this one, in fact) and all was well.

Not a game, but I once found a copy of a book called "Duke Nukem Does the Internet" in a used bookstore. It was written in the voice of Duke Nukem, and it explained things like how to use a web browser and how to find interesting discussions on Usenet. It was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen, and I'm never stopped kicking myself for failing to pick it up.

We have a store called Game Guy in our area and they sell games all the way back to the NES and I came across a copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day (An awesomely funny and now rare game if you haven't played it)for $10,and I was planning on buying it the next day but someone beat me to it. I've been looking for a copy since then (it's been about 2 yrs) and I'm not paying E-bay prices to get it.

So I went to Bookman's twice in the last month. I don't know if you people have Bookman's in other country's or other states, but if you don't, it's basically a used store for everything. I mean anything. I have three Bookman's here in Arizona, and I go to this one often. When I enter the store, I head to the game section. Take note I don't have much money with me, but will look anyways. While looking, I find Dues Ex, Paper Mario Thousand year Door, Beyond Good and Evil, and Blazblue Calamity trigger(Sorry if I my spelling sucks) all there. I was overjoyed. I have heard so many great things about these games, and I like all these genres, I didn't think it could be possible. Only problem is, I could only afford Beyond Good and Evil. Not that I regret buying it, BG&E is a really good game. But now i look back on the other games and think, "I'm never gonna find that game again". I went to another Bookman's, and found Rule of Roses( A really good SH2 clone), Rayman 2, Warhammer 40K fire warrior, Zelda Wind Waker, and countless other gems, but I only bought two games. I thought the same thing as before.

Sorry for the wall of text, but the question is, fellow Escapist's, Is have you ever found a game you'd know like, but pass on it, and know you'll probably never find it again?
Deus Ex and Beyond Good and Evil are on Steam. Cheap.

My computer doesn't run Steam for some retarded reason. Stop rubbing it in!

Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition.

Saw this for like $30 new at Wal-Mart a few months ago, didn't grab it, and now it's going for around $100 on ebay.

Shadow of Memories on PS2. Did anyone else play that? What an odd game : \
Yeah, still got it too. I never pass up an opportunity because I'll be kicking myself for it later every time.

That's why I'm a proud owner of Metal Gear 2: Solid Sake :p

I rarely can't find stuff since I usually do my game shopping online. Although I do remember one time when I was a kid seeing Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for sale, but I didn't have the money, so I figured I'd get it someday... And then I never found it in a store again... Ever...

The Adventures of Alundra on the PlayStation. I first played it when my Dad worked at a video rental store and loved it (I think I was about 9 at the time). I then looked for my own copy. Four or five years later I found one in Gamestation and immediately bought it for about six or seven quid and I still have it, and play it, to this day. The other was Grandia II on the PS2, saw a copy in Virgin and they didn't have any discs in stock. Two years later I found it again.

Of course this is me talking years ago, now I just use the 'net to pick up nearly any game I want.
