Why do people make "I'm New" threads? Seems a bit like attention seeking. You don't need to announce your presence to the entire forum. You'll do that plenty enough just by posting.

In the end, posting in and of itself is attention seeking. Just because a few people have been making "I'm New" threads doesn't make them any more (or less) attention seeking then just about all of us. Let them introduce themselves, if it really bothers anyone that much, the mods will either resurrect the old Introduction thread, or make a completely new one.

I agree to a small extent. Yes there is a bit of attention seeking, but it's mostly sharing your opinion and getting others to think about it to some extent. You're giving an idea or a point of view.
