I was planning to watch Shutter Island tonight, and then write a review of it for The Escapist, but cancelled because me, my housemates, and friends had a barbeque instead. So I'll be doing that tomorrow night instead. But I'm looking forward to it despite the fact that normally I hate horror (though psychological horror done well, like with Gothika or The Blair Witch Project, is pretty damn enjoyable and something I quite like). But the trailer for Shutter Island creeped me the fuck out. Good trailer, but creepy as hell. Except, you know, without the whole 'fire and brimstone' decor that Hell ostensibly has.
And on that note, The Blair Witch Project. Loved that film, but I could only see it once. Reason being it was so bloody creepy and scary, especially right at the end. I won't spoil it, though I will mention one thing. Apparently the cast themselves got so frightened filming it that half the stuff in the film wasn't faked, it was their real fear and feelings. Reason for that is because the cast took every opportunity they could to scare the cast purely to record the fear, and get it all in the film. Real thrills are much better than acted ones.
