I'm just not willing to pay 60 dollars for a fighting game, especially when the last one was 4x less. I just don't think it offers enough content to justify a 60 dollar price tag.

60$? That's really a lot.

Maybe if they include a huge amount of characters, and don't bring each individual character as a 10$-DLC it could be worth it.

Umm wasn't MvC 2 around $60 on release? Because new games have been $60 since I've been buying them, which was over 20 years ago.

The PS2 version of MvC 2 still retails for $50. USED.

OT:

Well, it's not a bother for real fighting game enthusiasts, who tend to easily sink over 100 hours into good titles.

God, I but at least 75 into Blazblue.

For casual couch playing with friends? $60 may be a tad pricey.

It started as an arcade game in the 90s, and was ported to the xbox live arcade for 1200 Microsoft points, which is about 15 dollars. I originally thought that it was going to be an arcade game, not a full priced release.

It's not that I don't like fighting games anymore, I still love playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2; I just expect more from my games today.

So it wasn't really 1/4 of the price.
When MvC 2 first came out on the PS2 and other systems, it was $60. A remake that comes out close to 10 years later does not make a game new.

I agree with -Zen-, my Special Edition preorder begs to differ. This is 10 years of hype, which will hopefully be followed by 10 more years of hype before we get MvC4.

You can always wait until it drops in price. Just so you know, almost every game is sold at that price when they are first released, even MvC2.

I'm willing to drop the 60 bucks. It looks great, and nothing else is coming out for a while, so I need a new game to keep me busy.

What are you expecting? Some grandiose story with fully realized 3d levels? cut-scenes? What do you mean by 'more content' anyway? I think you're hopelessly looking for bells and whistles on a genre that certainly doesn't need them.

The only issue I have is e # of characters/ missing characters. I've never played a whole lot of fighting games so could be unappreciative.

But on the other hand. My life sucks, id probably just spend it grtting drunk on Valentines Day or whittling it down on other things.

While I understand your plight, I myself feel differently. My preorder is proof of this.
Same here.
In fact not only do i have the normal edition pre-ordered, im going into the shop early on the day its released to see if i can snag an extra Collectors Edition if they have one.
(Apparently the Pre-order limit for the Collectors Edition was reached by the time i got a chance to go in)

It depends on how you look at it Op.
$60 for a fighting game with a nice cast of characters, plenty of extra content, several game modes, and a HUGE replay value seams very reasonable to me.

You think 60$ is alot? Where the hell do you live? I spent 70$ on a Naruto game, and I rarely see a game for 360/PS3 that isn't 60-70$, unless it's in the cheap bucket or used.
