I'm tired of all the noob-tubers, powerweapons, and douchebags. Any suggestions of shooters me and my 3 friends can all play without the weapon whores and at least a little balance to the weapons? I suggested the original CoD4 to them but only 2 of us owned it, I am also the only person who owns Battlefield Bad Comp. 2 and The Orange Box. Also we are all Xbox nerds (Say all you want I can't afford gaming PC or PS3 right now.)

Get them to buy Bad Company 2, it's the best game for team-play and after the patch it's very balanced.

If you want to go solo, maybe try Transformers War For Cybertron when it comes out, the demo is good fun, you can get it on XBOX Live.

Get them to find a cheap copy of The Orange Box. Battlefield 1943 is cheap, balanced and fun, With a team you could dominate every match. You can't go wrong with Halo (say what you ant, with 3 mates it is fucking fun to play).
Yes how could I forget 1943 and Halo. Me and one friend had a blast 1943, and speaking of him he still has my Halo 3 multiplayer disc.

Well, if there are 4 of you you'd be a squad in BC2. It's very enjoyable as a full squad playing together (hardcore of course XD). I don't know if MAG is for the xBox, but I hear it's quite good. I only own a PC, so I can't really help you a lot =(.

I see where you are on the financial situation, I have wanted a 360 or PS3 since they came out but I still can't afford =(.

I'd recommend shadowrun, for a new copy it's ten dollars, everyone I've been paired up with in that game was nice, it's weapon system keeps things from getting unbalanced, for the first round atleast.

You don't have to take my word for it, there's a demo for it on the marketplace if you want to try it for yourself.

Shadowrun, ah yes, got it for 5 bucks new and now my friend practically owns it by how often he borrows it.

I really need to echo Bad Company 2, it's really a great multiplayer shooter.

But if all of you have Half-Life 2 - which is quite often the case - I've had some great fun in the Source mods. Resistance and Liberation is great "reality"-style fun, then there's Insurgency and similar. A lot of it isn't top-notch quality, but if you want something to quickly replace MW2 it's a great choice.

Orange Box otherwise, or Day of Defeat. Source shooters are easy, quick and accessible.

Edit: Wait, scratch that. Xbox. Gears of War, people!

Perfect Dark is pretty damn fun with mates. Though the power weapons can get slightly irritating, the weapon set is randomised each game adding a lot of variety.

I agree with both of these. BFBC2 really is a blast, and if you're willing to try a 3rd-person shooter then download the T:WfC demo and give it a whirl, it's basically Cogformers: Gears of Cybertron (but without the Lancer duels) if you see what I mean. The demo doesn't let you directly invite friends to your game, but that feature will be available in the full game which comes out in just a few days.
