Hello, Escapists and peanut bagels(I don't know).

I'm a 17 year old girl, whom is extremely bored with my hair.
I've had it in some different styles over the years, colourwise it's always been shifting between dark brown(my natural hair colour), black and sort of red for what little variation there is.

But I want to do something else with it, and if someone has some suggestions for what you think would fit, I'd be happy to take them into consideration.

Here are some pictures so you can sort of visualise what you think would fit:

Pulled back, WARNING big pic

Taken yesterday

This one's on my profile

And this one's really old, but shows two very different styles

That should be sufficient. Any ideas yet? Hair colour ideas are also welcome.

P.S I'm not particularly active in tweaking my look, I don't use make up or any sort of hair spray so effortless hairstyles would be great.

Edit

Here's a pic of me with bangs and longer hair for more reference:

And with red hair:

More advice, you guys rock. :D

I'm Commander Shepard and this is the girliest thread on the escapist.

Seriously though, I just had a haircut today and I didn't even know what I wanted when I sat in the chair so I just had a trim. It's just a matter of trying everything until something fits.

Hmm... The last one's actually pretty good. However, I am 1) a guy, and 2) have shit hair, so trust nothing I say.

However, don't do pulled back, it doesn't work for you.
If you're insistent upon dyeing it, go for the last hairstyle you showed, and dye the swept bit either blue or red.

You seem to favour shorter styles, and if you're looking for a quick fix perhaps more of a pixie cut? Other than that my advice is to let it grow out, trimming and shaping as necessary, so you can do more with it in terms of putting it up. Shorter hair is fun (and cooler in summer) but longer hair gives you more to play around with - which is cheaper than a cut and colour on a regular basis!

As for colour, you could try going with a really dark (chocolate brown base) but intense copper red? It will be something that makes people look twice, but doesn't upset your wardrobe too much and won't give your grandma/school/etc a heart attack. =)

EDIT: a note on the colour - you know how you can get your hair dyed black so it shines blue in the sun? Well my sister had hers (dark brown) done so that it shone pink in the sun. It was awesome, because out of the sun it just looks like normal dark brown hair..

Do you have any hang ups on Ellen Page?
If you want it shorter, Emma Watson's styling something new that could be quite in if she ever starts modelling for Chanel.

Sorry, first thing that came to mind.

And yes, I'm definitely talking about 0:13.

Just bear this in mind. That straight-bangs-ending-at-the-brow-look? No one makes that look good. No one.

Also, avoid perms. While they are unlike the aforementioned atrocious style of bangs in that a select few women can rock a perm, I doubt you could. Your facial structure wouldn't be visually compatable with that.

Now that's out of the way, perhaps growing it out and making a large braid with the hair at the back and sides would be something favorable. Failing that, the last picture you have features a hairstyle that suits you very well. Perhaps you could stick with that.

Out of all the pics you put up, my favourite is the bottom right one. It suits the shape of your face the most, IMO. I think if it was like that with some bright highlights/streaks (maybe red or blue) it would look awesome

Basically what other people have been saying. The last one suits you really well. If you want something different then you have the sort of face that can pull off a pixie cut. Whatever you do I suggest the bangs you have in the last picture, to the side rather than full bangs. I mean, the full bangs really bring out your eyes, but your eyes stand out enough (adorably, might I add w/o being a creeper xD) without them and the side bangs give you a more mysterious look.

As for the color, which is something you should change if you're really that bored with your hair (though, I do like the brown), it sounds as if you've always gone for darker hair colors. But, you could pull of a lighter hair color really well with your skin tone.

I agree the last one suits you best. Some type of part in your hair is a good idea to have for whatever style you choose.
