I've played it. Yeah, it's entertaining, but I certainly don't see it holding my attention for longer than a month, nevermind actually getting a PS3 for it. It certainly doesn't help that Sony bows to everyone who so much as twitches in their direction over copyright nonsense.

The number of replays has led to 100% items on the first 3 creator areas.
You got 100% items in the second level? How!? I swear I've searched every nook and cranny I can conceivably reach on Level 2 of the first area and the best I can get is 98%. I've checked behind every object, activated every switch, but there's still no sign of the last item!

It also depends how perfectionist you are. I wouldn't even touch the level editor until I got the PLAY (Dont die on any levels) and COLLECTER (Get every prize bubble) trophies, and to do that, your limits and intuitiveness (Real word?) will be pushed. I got the game the day you could for preorders (A few days before the actual release date) And have only accomplished this about 1-2 weeks ago. Since then, not to sound snobby, but my creative juices are enough to find the level editor right up my alley of desires. As I said it really depends who you are. If you are a perfectionist basic run jump platformer fan who has a ton of ideas like me, this game caters perfectly to you, but if that isn't your forte of gamming, yeah it makes sense that it'd get old fast. Although even my friends who weren't as core about it as me think it's a great party game reguardless, so there's always that.

Wow... I read this after hearing all the folks with a PS3 claiming that LBP will be the PS3's killer app (which always made me laugh when I heard it) and now I hear it's just a mediocre platformer?
From one guy and its gods gifts to PS3 from thousands you cant expect everyone to like a game.

I was bored out of my skull with just the beta, and none of my friends play it anymore.

I wondered how long LBP would remain interesting. I played it at a friends house, I loved it, thought it was a blast, but I couldn't see myself playing that more than once or twice. I think it's a great looking game with smooth controls, yet limited replayability for the gamer that isn't easily impressed...does that make sense to anyone?

Oh come on, if you were going to make a Penis level with suggestive themes everywhere, of course it would be banned/ban you! Use some common sense. (though admittedly, I was also going to make a penis level, but only to send to my friend >_>; )

Jump on Button, Run along, Jump on vehicle or badly animated animal, fly up to ledge, jump down hole, collect some stuff. I sware every level is the same.
I've got agree. I rushed through the 1 player, collected loads of stuff. Ventured into 'Cool Levels'. Didn't find many. I've played 50. Maybe 5 were standout good. Some were okay. Quality is very very low.

Pretty sure I'm going to get rid of it unless Sony stop deleting all the quality.
Why do people openly admit that they "rushed through the Single Player" part of LBP? I'm just curious, it's as if people are alright with completely rushing through a simple platformer yet they are allowed to take their time with anything else. If you rush through the single player, you're missing out on alot of content just like if you rush any other game to the finish line.

Like Wargamer said I guess, it depends on how creative you can be. Personally, I havn't touched the level creator for a while because I was completely stumped on what to do while my friend has made a couple of really cool levels with it. THen, only recently, I got a stroke of genius and finaly decided a level to create.

If you rush through the single player, you're missing out of the sharing aspect and the create which is pretty much the 2/3s of the game. That's fine, though, to each his own, but don't complain that an RPG is short because you skipped all the sidequests and optional games. Similar to this.
I think there is a misunderstanding I'm close to 100% collectables and working through the multiplayer with friends. I was off work ill and had much sofa time to finish the game. Maybe rush was the wrong word. I'm not going to drag it out to say it was longer. It is a short one player game. I have been playing user created and have attempted making my own levels, this is slow to be good - probably the cause of so many mediocre levels in 'cool levels'.

My point remains - not much there. Sony pulling levels sucks - maybe they're the quality ones.
I apologize for the misunderstanding (though my point still stands about the rushing through any game unless it calls for it (speed runs I guess)). Though 100% as in everything ever? Like, acing every level, getting all collectables, 100% like that? 'Cause, damn, I can barely pass that stupid Japleno level!

And I really think people are overreacting to Sony pulling levels, while yes that does suck, I have yet to see many levels actually being pulled down. I still see many "copyrighted" levels like video game music and stuff and I havn't seen much of the really popular levels being deleted. Nonetheless though, it still sucks, I just think people are overreacting.

I don't know. I finished the entire single player game (that's aced, got all items, and completed and aced all challenges) in about a week. If you've played a platformer or two it's not all that hard to complete. I will say that I had a fucking blast the whole way through, and, truely, I could not wait to see what the next level would be like. I am, however, a bit saddened by how lacking the *ahem* "cool" levels are.

Jump, you and I should play together. You could watch in awe as I spend 15 minutes typing in a statement because I don't have a mic. Or laugh as I try to mime my intentions using a combo of Sackboys costumes, facial expressions, and arm gentures.

I thought LBP was great, it gave us what it said it would;
'a game where your imagination is your only limitation'
I've seen some incredible levels and yes there are some bad ones but i still think it's great.
Just an opinion...

Theres nothing wrong with LBP. SO what if it's not super in depth and challenging and a bit repetitive. Thats not the point. It's not meant to be played for hours and grinded into to. It looks good, it's simplistic, and the idea of the game is to just have some fun. make some levels and mess around. It's alot more enjoyable with 3 or more players or online running into total strangers on any given level. Hate on it if you want. but i think it's an excellent little social game.

oh and anyone who's first instinct is to make a penis level shouldn't be allowed to pass judgement on something as too simplistic and simple minded.

Holy crap, you're alive! Havn't seen you 'round here very often, but yeah I'd love to group up sometime. I have a mic, though I don't use it very often (crap quality anyway, got it with Warhawk and it's nearly broken).

By the by, does anyone know when Online Creation will be updated? It would be much easier to work on my levels if my friend and I could easily create with eachother.

Maybe it is because platforming games, no matter how creative, are a dead genre (except mario).

I got to 999 posts and then spent a few weeks not posting while I thought about just leaving it there.

But yes, like that new game about a devastated city that's coming out, I Am Alive.

"Oh noes this platformer is too simple! Where are my guns and tits?!"

Play the game with friends, it's much better.
As soon as I get the game that is the level I am creating.
