And yet, he's kinda right. You gotta be honest, perhaps not shooters in general, and the RPG fan one is probably false for the large majority, but COD fans don't have a good track record for being wonderful people (anyone else laugh out loud at the latest live action trailer? Yeah, I can totally see an experienced player helping out a newby...), this kind of thing just isn't at all likely to happen with RPG fans, or hell, people who aren't COD fans (no offence to COD fans, but if you've been online, you know who's dirtying your name).

I do know how the OP feels though. On the walk home from a midnight launch with my limited edition of Halo reach, I felt like I had a pretty big target on my back, seeming as I lived in a town which had a healthy population of chavs, with the main past times being hard drinking and casual FPS playing.

Well actually, I think Elder Scrolls Players are rather a decent bunch of introverted and lonely nerds with the urge to play single player games and not to be obnoxiously stupid, yell insults over team speak while teabagging their latest kill. So I don't think they are the group that will assail you and steal your copy of Skyrim. It would be out of character.

Okay, let me explain. I just finished reading the thread about the guy who followed a guy home and used a gun to try to steal his MW3 copy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.322205-Modern-Warfare-3-Fan-Fends-Off-Really-Stupid-Thief]. The point of this thread is, I'm petrified. I have the $150 collector's edition of Skyrim preordered, not the normal version, so I would be more likely to be robbed than anyone. I really want to go pick this game up and play it all night long, but now I really feel like I should wait till the morning for this reason.

Thoughts? Are my fears valid or over-hyped? I've never been to a midnight launch so I don't know what to expect...
