I'm happy that a Native American is getting the spotlight again, however, I'm still wondering how they'll handle it. Hopefully there will be no BS Indian Princess Pocahontas kinda crap.

I also hope that they'll show more of the real side of George Washington, like how he was a shitty general.

This seems a little odd. During the American Revolution most native Americans fought against the US, so a apparently native assassin in front of an American flag seems out of place. And, frankly, I don't think it will be about killing American revolutionaries as that would probably get a lot of opposition. Also what's with all the male protagonists, I get the entire author/player insertion thing that you all like to do, but surely you have to realize that a strong female protagonist is a selling point right?
actually, not quite, the natives were for the most part neutral because the British treated them worse than the french and Spanish, really more fought AGAINST the British.
Honestly, that untrue, a quick wikipedia search will disprove that claim. It's true that native Americans were officially neutral many did fight in the war, and I can't think of a single citation in which natives fought against the British during the war. Remember one of the causes for the war was that Britain had set out more than half the country for the Natives (they didn't know how much though) and the colonists wanted to go past the line into native territory.

It appears that the next game in the series will take place during the American revolution and will star a Native American ancestor this time around.
Ok, that's it. Assassin's Creed has just been downgraded in my eyes. Ubisoft no longer cares about finishing this damn storyline. They were completely prepped for FINALLY going to Desmond's part of the story so, but now they're just doddering about in order to wring more cash from fans. This its entirely unecessary, and more so poorly chosen as a setting due to the number of difficulties there are in trying to implement a solo melee fighter in a world of people fighting as ranged units. Whoever this new character is, he is not going to last long against a full volley of muskets.

Seriously, Ubisoft has lost what little respect I had for them with this one. There's no narrative point at all for why this game should be placed in this setting, and all the gameplay could have been more easily and logically put into the Desmond era. It's there to just shamelessly draw out more money, and that is inexcusable.

Wait.....This is a joke right?

Cause I swear if I have to play through another entire game that doesn't finish the fucking storyline, I'm gonna kill the developers.

At the end of Revelations I thought to myself: "Finally the last part of the game is next".

I love the games but they really seem to be dragging on now.

They could make during French Revolution, Russian Revolution (They were poor at the time, so they didn't have good technology), Iberian Peninsula (1580-1640) making the protagonist fight against the Spaniards and try to regain Portugal country independence.
Japan or China too. Samurai Assassin would be awesome :D
I wouldn't mind them going backwards in settings as long as they tacked it with completely new storylines.

I Hope it's fake. So many places to make the game, and they choose an ugly country.

In all honsety, before you do a French Revolution game you should do an American Revolution game.

History moves forwards, not backwards.

That seems odd that they're going to makea native american wear the white coat, especially since unless hes fighting predominantly in winter and snow, hes going to stick ut like a sore thumb (or if you rather, a red coat).

but eh I dont play the series, so this isnt exactly major news to me.

Compared to what countries that look good during a revolution?

To be fair, you stuck out pretty badly in Italy as well, stealth hasn't really been their focus so far.

Seriously, I know everyone here seems to be going fap-crazy over this new 'instalment' - but when I first read about the game being set in America, my jaw dropped.

How the hell can Ubisoft, by any stretch of storytelling imagination, shoehorn the Assassin's Creed hashashin lore (which is middle-eastern - Syrian/Persian) into Native American lore - down to the sodding costume design?

It.

Is.

Retarded.

Ah well. One less sale.

Cool, the climbing tall buildings aspect will be interesting, you never see tall buildings in the western films do you, maybe they'll improve on climbing rock-walls, unlike in Brotherhood where I had to go around most cliffs rather than climb them.

I've been thinking that this is what would happen since the end of AC:B. I really like the idea.

Seriously, that is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I hope to god that it's real.
This

...and yes...it is real:

I think it works though. If this guy is a descendant of the Italians, it would make sense to me about how he got over to the Americas. Also, considering the fact that in the previous games, they have mentioned the notion of putting an Assassin's Guild in the Americas, this premise is not too big of a leap from "Hashasin" to Modern-Day Assassins.

Well apparently this is real. Check out this pic from the AC facebook page. They started a countdown and gave pics for the European box art.

Wow, skipping this one. I wanted to play as desmond, considering all this time that's what we've been progressing towards.
