My parents almost named be Dougie, Not "Doug - ie" but "Doog - ie." I don't want to picture how my life would have turned out being a Dougie. No offense to anybody named that, but yuck.

My friend works with an Indian guy called Manmeet.
You might mean Manveet, a Punjabi name.

As for my name, I'm cool with it. I know a few others with the same name, but no one I meet on a regular basis.
It very well could be, but my friend pronounced it as "Manmeet". It's not unlike friends to extend the truth for the purpose of humour though ;-)

A friend of my family is a midwife, so she gets a lot of these:

Seymour Brah (Say it out loud)

Justin Case

Snow White (Yes, there is)

Also, the Dux of my year is called Valiant. The reason? His mum's an eccentric Maths teacher, and his dad's name is Xavier.

Eugh, Xavier...

There's a guy here named Harry Cox, definitely not a name I'd want as children tend to be extremely vulnerable to ridicule. However, if they learn to adapt quick enough, it could definitely entertaining.

At work we have a name wall with names of people that came in for pickups we thought up that were funny. Some were mildly funny (such as "Folded Apron", "Pasta in a bag") to pretty commonly funny ("Mike Hunt") to rediculous ("Lego men in a boat", "Luke Warm Water") and some just plain old wierd ("Some Robbers" [french guy, pronounced 'somay row-bare'])

I would have liked a name like Frank McDanger. I could have gone into police work. Of course, my captain would always call me into his office, yelling "Damnnit McDanger I don't like your hardball tactics, but you get results!" Oh yeah!

Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen. The only upside is your dad has an awesome stache.
Frank Zapa named his kids Moon Unit and dweezil

and I think Postulio would be a bad name to have

Why would my name influence my personality? I *wish* a simple name change would affect my personality, then I could fix myself without needing to do all that expensive therapy and inner-self exploration!

I used to work at a pharmacy & have seen some funny patient names. The funniest was Mr. Jolly Pickup. I'd like to think he had a friend called Happy Tractor!

I really don't think something such as a name would effect someones life.

Wasen't there a mythbusters episode where they had two twins with diffrent names parade around the city in diffrent areas and they both weren't effected diffrently at all, but then again first they would half to find a list of names people liked and disliked so it would be easy to see what would happen, for example, Orlando and Bob. See what I'm getting at here?

And you would get partnered with an grizzly old cop coming out of retirement for one last case.
"Frank McDanger is a loose cannon who doesn't play by the rules!"

Now on topic, I didn't like my original name, so I took the name Zak Frost, but it's more like I changed my name to match personality, than the other way around.

More than one person has the name "stompy"?! The mind boggles.

My name seems to be assosciated with serial killers, axe murderers and general psychopaths.

Unfortunately I'm not helping *that* cause. That said, changing my name probably wouldn't remove what I am - I'm a big believer that what I am is a direct result of my genetics and my experiences.

I was inches away from being called Adolf, but grandma (unfortunately) interviened.

Right now I feel like changing my name to Alyosha Karamazov, but that would make me a bigger fanboy then tatooing Kirby on my face.

Awww, we all know you're that big a fanboy anyway, sammy; you don't need a name to tell us that.
