You might be surprised. I can only speak for myself, but I'm not a huge movie-goer, anyway, even if there are ponies involved. The only thing that could get me into the theater for an MLP movie would be if Keith David, James Earl Jones, Morgan Freeman, Leonard Nimoy or Patrick Stewart played a role.
That, and, you know, there's got to be a fair population of bronies that try to remain inconspicuous and/or nonchalant. They're just big enough fans of the show to go to the theaters, but still harboring that vague insecurity and false shame that comes from liking My Little Pony.

Not where I live, Here in the UK it isnt such a large fandom as in america, there would probably be like 3 people seeing the first showing at the nearest cinema.
I don't know, going around college I'm absolutely certain I've seen and heard pony-related things more than once, and a couple of my friends are also fans. I think it's more likely that there is a few fans in the UK, but not that kind that advertise it very much in general life (like me).

OT: It would be a pretty funny sight to see, but I imagine the parents of the young girls that arrived would be more worried/scared than anything else.

There will be cosplay, and they will be awesome.
Will you be team Rainbow Dash or Team Twilight?
FLUTTERSHY IS THE ONLY RIGHT ANSWER!

OT: It would be awesome, and I would probably be to embarrassed to go see it unless I could take my little cousins to go see it..

You're BOTH wrong! TANK is best pony!
Dash, Twilight, Fluttershy, Luna and Tank. AND NO PINKIE PIE, shame on you all!

OT: There will probably be some news report about how the bronies are pedos and they only went there to get the little kids. Or all the bronies just watch it on youtube or download it.

Technically there already have been MLP movies, for the earlier generations. I don't think Hasbro will be willing to throw down the cash for an actual theatrical release considering that the show itself is being made on a shoestring.

Been a while since I posted a link to the Escapist FiM user group:

I recommend turning chat notifications off for the group as it is very active.

All the screaming fangirls scared silent by the horde of screaming, overweight, over-thirty bronies.

And yet it'd still be less disturbing than seeing all those middle aged women going to see Twilight.

If there was a movie I'd probably be a TV or direct to DVD movie than a theatrical release. They're really expensive.

I imagine it much the same. The older fans though I doubt would be quite like what you described. I'm imaging them more along the lines of odder looking dudes with some pony apparel, not doubt most of it made for the older fans specifically. The cosplaying would be present at places though I'm sure, lets hope there aren't too many fursuits.

And honestly, I'd imagine the older fans sticking to themselves for the most part. Though parents will probably still be giving them odd glances every now and then.

Not gonna happen, Lauren Faust already moved on to the WB and Cartoon Network to make the Super Best Friends Forever show for the DC Nation block.

I for one cant wait for the flooding of Super Girl, Wonder Woman and Batgirl fan art to flood the internets.

I don't want to imagine that.

It gives me a headache.

Yes, we know, blah blah blah, really nice animation, blah blah blah, going against conventional gender roles, blah blah blah.

Plus, it seems to be an American fixation, there's no mention of MLP anywhere in the UK.
You should go in to Toy shops; they're pretty flooded with MLP, it is quite popular. I tested it out on my 2.5 year old, she's hooked and can name more MLP characters than I know...

So I guess I'd be one of those 20somthings off to see it, but I am Female and would have a child with me, I'm safe!

You guys are missing the big picture, the older fans will be there opening night while the 8 year old's will be there on Saturday or Sunday, because why is an 8 year old going to see a movie at 12 A.M. I implore all you Bronies out there if you see a parent taking their kid to see MLP on opening night, you punch them in the face.

Its on a channel called Boomerang in the UK and its on at 3:00pm weekdays (I think) and not shown at weekends, trouble is with that is that many kids dont come home until around 3:30 so it doesnt give them a chance to watch it. Also Boomerang is mainly for old Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo re-runs. Its owned by Cartoon Network though for whatever thats worth.
Well there is a Boomerang + or something like that were it's an hour behind meaning it's still possible to watch the show at 4:00pm on that + channel. I do agree that chances are the kids would not had seen it on that channel anyway

OT- For one thing, there is no way they would ever premier a midnight openning since the younger demography can't stay awake for that long (before you say this is perfect for brony need I remind you that the initial target is the kids only so no evenning or late night show for us Brony).

It going to be awkward as hell. I can easily see either there are police officier standing by the queue or the parent will be given the adult without a child a glare.

They can't. Fluttershy manages to be both the most badass pony and the most adorable at the same time. Anything that could beat her would break the universe with it's awesomeness.

That's for the best. Imagine what would happen if two Bronies actually met...
in real life?

The Singularity of Awkward could break the old records set by Star Wars fans and Trekkies!

Sadly, this also means I won't be able to deploy my anti-fanboy artillery against moviegoers until the next Michael Bay movie (or the last Twilight film; whichever comes first).
