Hmm, since my favorite characters tend to be the ones I'm not playing, this is tricky... I guess I'm going to go with Raziel from the Legacy of Kain games as my favorite playable protagonist. While it's impossible to imagine anyone other than Michael Bell doing the voice work, the character model probably wouldn't change all that much since Raziel is a destroyed husk of a vampire (exposed ribs/spine, no throat/jaw, etc), though they would probably have to model him with more clothes on if he actually had any naughty bits to cover.
Christena Blare instead of Christopher Blare in Wing Commander... Would probably work except Maniac would be constantly hitting on her, and probably showing off even more than usual. There were plenty of female pilots in the wing commander series. God I feel old.
