Thanks to the new Persona 3 portable I no longer have to imagine the MC as a girl, Him being a girl would probably effect the social links.

Also Mario as a girl...ewwwwwwwwww!

Something tells me Female Travis Touchdown would not end well. Or be the greatest person to ever live. I'm not sure which.

A female Garrus...would just be weird.

But at least there would be at least one female alien in the universe then, so there's that.

Well, let's see. My favorite game character is Lara Croft. Make her male and you have...

*GASP*

Indiana Jones!
Yeah, um... Way to point out the obvious. XD

I mean, at some point they basically said Tomb Raider was an Indiana Jones ripoff anyway...

Then claimed the only reason Lara existed at all was because the artists they had at the time seemed incabable of making a male character that didn't look like Arnie. XD

Hmm...

1. Colette Brunel (Tales of Symphonia) as a man. I think that'd just be a combination of Momiji Sohma and Italy.

2. Saber (Fate/Stay Night) as a man. Goodbye heterosexuality.

3. Kohaku (Tsukihime) as a man. My brain just hit a brick wall trying to imagine that.

4. Dante (Devil May Cry) as a woman. ...that's actually surprisingly horrifying, and I'm not going to imagine it any longer.

5. Evangeline A.K. McDowell (Negima) as a man. I'm having a surprisingly hard time imagining that...then again, he might just be a more mature version of Negi.

JRPG character, how would you ever know the difference?
Well, most life forms on this planet have organs that detect and distinguish visible light, not to mention organs that detect and interpret vibrations in the air as sound. We call them eyes and ears.

Someone's already said that Samus as a man would just be Master Chief.

Except that guy would have class.

Yoshimitsu from Tekken would be a bit scarier, I think, and the off-the-wall costumes would probably involve an offensive amount of skin, in addition to offensively looking like bugs instead of something cool or pertinent to the character.

But in the case of JRPG lead characters, such organs are largely useless due to the ambiguity of the characters features and vocal chords.

The only sure fire way to know would be to get in and make use of the sense of touch, which could backfire horribly.

Darth Revan as a female...wow, that's quite easy to imagine actually.
I'm pretty sure this answers your question

Especially since you'd probably get arrested for child molestation. I recommend sticking with the characters who are more than ten years of age. With one or two exceptions, they're easily distinguishable.

Super Joe as a woman.... Hard to imagine such a testament to manliness as a female.
If so, Super Joan would be a super eco-feminist.

Gordiana Freeman.

The perfect woman. She'd be smart, crafty, reliable and most important - wouldn't speak a word.
Please, I believe that would be Jordan Freeman.

My favourite character in any game is actually G-man. My mind has now been blown just thinking about it.
